I ordered this as well. A 4.3" 800x480 display, 12 million POI's and TTS really sold me. |

PNP said:Need to do some more research before deciding for certain, but I went ahead and jumped to get in on the price. With slow-boat shipping I'll have time to decide whether or not to refuse the package. I read a bit on gpspassion and it looks like this is a great deal. Hopefully some hacks or upgrades will inspire me to keep. While the description doesn't say, this unit has 12 million poi. Thanks for increasing prices for everyone by using the shipping service to window shop! Decide if you want it BEFORE it ships, not during. |

This is fatwallet... most people probably have it shipped free. I certainly doubt that the purchase of my 1 unit will significantly increase anyone's (much less "everyone"'s) price. Do you have anything useful to add? |

The specs say this unit is both 4.3" wide with a 4.3" widescreen. Which is it? Is the width 4.3", the diagonal 4.3" or both? |

...which has nothing to do with the point, unless you think the shipping services work for Amazon for free.

This is a Friday sale... after today the price will go back up not withstanding anything me or anyone else does today. After much contemplation, however, I now realize that because I wasn't 100% certain that I would keep this gps before I bought it (which is perfectly natural) that I may have deprived 1 poor soul of being able to purchase at this price (only if I decide to return it though)... that one person that really really wanted it but it went out of stock 2 seconds too early. In that case, I'll just keep telling myself that it was you so that I don't feel that bad and I won't lose any sleep. btw... since this price ends today anyway, by your logic I will be doing others a favor if I return it next week. Amazon will have "excessive" stock on hand and will probably put them on sale again. and also... I decided that just because of your bitching I'll just keep the damn thing. Does that make you feel so much better about yourself? |

Can somebody tell me whether changing the navigation software affects the points of interest? |

Uh...yeah.... I think we need to remind ourselves that it is inappropriate to comment on other users. It's, like, not conducive to communal life, man. It's time to focus our talk on the thing were supposed to be talking about rather than on the people talking about the thing we're supposed to be talking about. If we could do that, that'd be totally cool. Otherwise, I'm not going to be able to stay a happy-mellow mod. Thanks. |

yes each software contains encrypted maps. if the data was easily decryptable they'd probably just steal it (oops it is sometimes easily decryptable). but in a short; you change the software you get new poi's and features related to the software you are BUYING for it |

PNP said:Can somebody tell me whether changing the navigation software affects the points of interest? I don't know for certain, but I believe that POIs are within the map data. So if the new navigation software can read the map data, that is the file extension is the same and the data layout within the file is correct, then you would need to retain the map files for the new navigation software. Otherwise, you will need new map data for the new navigation software. Um, for (cough, chirate, cough) software, check http://www.pdax4.com about halfway down. |

Would this work with a 16GB or 8GB SDHC card? I would want to use this as a PDA when out of the car and dock it in while driving... with that screen it should be great for reading or watching video while not being used as GPS... Can I somehow use the Internet with the Bluetooth PAN in the house? To use this device during workout to reach content from my home network/server... Can somebody tell me why did I even buy this thing?

I am so tempted to buy this. But there doesn't seem to be any firmware updates available at HP. It also seems that they are not supporting it. No accessories available. No downloads available, .... Can anyone point me to a firmware update? How about a way to install WM5 on this? I question if it has bluetooth or not. The description and GUI show "yes" but the solitary review says no. |

If i could through win xp on it and hook up a bluetooth keyboard i'd buy it in a flash. I still have an old Axim sitting in the drawer. This thing does have the same resolution as the Asus Eee, which says a lot for a 4.3 inch screen. |

Thanks op. Going to give this unit a try. And hopefully it works better than the stupid mobile cross pda that has been sitting in the closet for the past year. (I am sure anything works better that POS) |
