Edit: 1/30/08: They just raised the price to $33 - $20 = $13. Damnit!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/30/08: Cost Central / PCSuperstore at $13 after $20 MIR and FREE shipping:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit (OOS at TheNerds.net): Edit better deal: TheNerds.net is indeed an authorized HP reseller (see my post on page 2). Do a search for PX976AT at TheNerds.net and you can add 4 of the modules for $26.66 - $20 MIR each with free shipping over $100. There is no mention of the rebate there, so YMMV. Also, use coupon affgoo2 with Google checkout and save $5.00 additional. Also, you can go to e b a t e s (2%) or jellyfish (5%) links to get more off.
Dead: Antonline has this for $27 - $20 MIR. Should be good for 5 sticks. Shipping was $7.95 for 4 sticks.
Others including PCUniverse have this deal also for around or under $10 per stick after rebates/shipping.
Information from last deal:
Most of these had Micron chips during the last go around.
Rebate goes to Puerto Rico. Since this is a US territory, only one $0.41 stamp needs to be used.
All 5 sticks can be sent on the same rebate form.
Serial numbers are located on the sticker on the front of the ram sticks.
There are two bar code labels per box (many bar codes on them). I simply scanned them all (8 total) and sent them in on the form to receive the rebates.
Rebates arrive fast, in my experience. Less than 4 weeks from mail to check in hand.
Last rebate offer # was OPT-O23. This one is OPT-O24 (for those that want to try again)
Workable deal:
If you order it from TheNerds.net (4 or more sticks to get over $100), you'll get free shipping. You can also use Google checkout and coupon affgoo2 to get $5.00 off. Finally, you can go to TheNerds.net through links like Ebates (2% off) or Jellyfish (5%).
Example: 4 sticks at $26.66 each = $106.64 - 80 MIR - 5.08 from Jellyfish - 5.00 google checkout coupon = 16.14 = $4.14 per stick shipped.
Throwing in my credit card reward of 1.25%, I would be paying $3.82 per stick
Good luck!
*** FYI ***
By the way, it was pointed out at SD that if you used Google checkout at TheNerds.net and didn't have an account with TheNerds under the same e-mail for Google checkout, you will now. The account will be created under the Google checkout login e-mail and the password will be google. You can check the status of your order under that account. It is recommended to change your password to something other than google though. FYI!
pentiuman said: So, did everyone get their rebates last time, and if so, how long and from which co.?
The rebate is universal HP. I purchased from TechonWeb last time (not good price compared to others right now). Rebate arrived in less than 4 weeks.
Last rebate was OPT-O23. This one is OPT-O24. Should be good for everyone to go another round.
Rebate expires 1/31/08.
Good luck!

The last rebate offer 'O23' was for $200 ($40 x 5 sticks) and came back in 4 weeks! Net price was for $11. However, it went as low as $9 once or twice.
Still waiting on my rebate check from OPT-23, been 8+ weeks now, and HP's rebate center aren't answering the phone in observance of the holiday...so I won't be placing another order until I find out where the hell my $200 is!
CheapCheap1 said: I want to get 4 x sticks (4Gb). Should I order it separately (4 orders) or one order (for 4 sticks)? Just worry about T&C on the MIR !!!
I (and most others) placed all 4 (or 5) sticks on one order. It was no problem on the rebate. Besides, you'll pay 4 X shipping if you place them separately.

I ordered 5 last time around, sent them all in one rebate form/envelope, got the rebates back in like 4.5 weeks -- I'm in again!

buyer beware! antonline is a TERRIBLE company!
absolutely terrible experience with them! where to begin?? how about the fact that their 'customer service' does not exist!! i wanted to cancel an order i placed with them (due to shady advertising they made about the item). so i went to their website they had a 1800 number, but apparently thats for orders only. when i tried to call it, some girl answered. sounded liek a teenager. she couldnt help me cancel an order and directed me to their website and their automated email service.
ok. fair enough i suppose, right? wrong! they ~claim~ that within 24-48 hrs you will get a reply. well guess what? i never got a reply from their 'customer service'. 4+ weeks later and i gave up trying to get ANY answer from them. they seemingly just ignored me after they got my money.
and an extra $5 off $100 with google checkout (from fatwallet page) affgoo2 Nice thought, but OOS. EDIT: Above link doesn't work which is why it shows OOS. Do a search for PN PX976AT and it shows them in stock (at the nerds)
bubbachuck said: Well these support dual channel if I get two of them?
they should work just fine, unless you happen to get a really weird mixed batch. But that should be highly unlikely. Last time I got 4 sticks, they were all the same.

If so, might go ahead and order 4 to get the free s/h...otherwise it's cheaper to just order 2 (all I really need) from ANTOnline.com...

The rebate for TheNerds.net is questionable. Have anyone got rebates before on this memory form TheNerds?

Thanks, OP. Didn't hear about this program the first go-round, but ordered 2 sticks for the wife's Dell - this'll bring her up to 4GB. Vista should be happy about that! :-D

HP rebate center may refuse your rebate using the excuse of "participating reseller only"

Just note that unless you're running 64bit Vista, the PC will only access 3.5GB or less of the memory. Not that it will matter much, just a FYI.

I have yet to find a list from HP of participating resellers. The only stipulation that the rebate form states is "authorized HP reseller" of which TheNerds.net is. People on other forums have even stated that the rebate house took the Google checkout receipt which could be questionable on it's own. Of course, YMMV but I think that this should fly with no problem.

The computer nerds and the nerds are not the same. if you go to the HP partnership site and click on the link for computer nerds you will get page not found. type in miami fl and computer nerds Text
also address is different than the one for the nerds.
also interesting to note that pc unniverse is also owned by the same people that owns patriotpc filing
big difference in price between the two website (if I got the memory correct)
I would avoid kahlon as they seem to indicate that they can substitute "equivalent" sticks instead of the ones listed on the HP rebate. YMMV on what you actually receive from them.
