Engineer said:I would avoid kahlon as they seem to indicate that they can substitute "equivalent" sticks instead of the ones listed on the HP rebate. YMMV on what you actually receive from them. I've ordered from Kahlon before (not THESE, but I have ordered from them in the past) and they shipped what I ordered, no sub. |

But they list 3 part numbers on the ram, only one of which is good. 398038-001, PX976AA, PX976AT (The one ending in AT is good). Are you sure that you'll receive the one ending in AT? |

Heres hoping we get the ones ending with AT. |

Here's an example I worked up on AT. This doesn't count any possible credit card rewards (mine is 1.25% back): If you order it from TheNerds.net (4 or more sticks to get over $100), you'll get free shipping. You can also use Google checkout and coupon affgoo2 to get $5.00 off. Finally, you can go to TheNerds.net through links like Ebates (2% off) or Jellyfish (5%). Example: 4 sticks at $26.60 each = $106.4 - 80 MIR - 5.32 from Jellyfish - 5.00 google checkout coupon = 16.08 = $4.02 per stick shipped. Throwing in my credit card reward of 1.25%, I would be paying $3.69 per stick! |

I've done enough research to assure that I'm ok with it and went ahead and placed the order. "authorized HP reseller", of which TheNerds is, is the only stipulation on the rebate form and I see that stipulation as "met". |

Kahlon.com is selling "equivalent" non-HP ram. Be smart, buy real HP labeled ram from an HP dealer if you want the $20 HP rebate. Note the house-brand part numbers: KCOMP976 for Compaq, KHEW976 for HP. "1GB Module (PC2-5300) for Hewlett-Packard Business Desktop dc7600 SFF/Convertible Minitower OEM Part # equivalent: 398038-001, PX976AA, PX976AT". |

TheNerds have 33 reviews for this HP ram, and many mention previous HP rebates. Dunno why they don't list the current rebate. Should be ok. You can always spend a bit more and do the deal where the seller shows the rebate. |

MeraNamJoker said:is it not the same rebate as last time.. ? so anyone who got 5 last time will be able to get more ? From the OP: Last rebate was $40 per stick with offer number OPT-O23. This rebate is $20 per stick an offer OPT-O24.
(And yes, people who received offer OPT-O22 received OPT-O23, so this should be no issue at all). |
