me too. I almost ordered 10 of them.

I used my $10.00 off Lowes coupon and bought a $7.97 plant but they still took the full $10.00 off spreading it around on all of the items I purchased.

I have had good look with the GE bulbs that I bought. They were $4-5 for a two pack about a year ago or so at Target. They are effectively as fast as incandescents. Their light is a little bit pink though, if that bothers you.

edit: by the way, the wiring in my apartment is very poor, and sometimes causes the power to flicker. This has killed a number of regular bulbs, but not my GE CFLs.

I bought a slew of these yesterday and installed them in my foyer and, with only a 1/2 second delay, they come on full-force with white (not yellow) light. I'm pleased with the purchase so far, but yeah, if they crap out in 2 weeks or a month or something, then we have a problem.

Right now, I'm still pleased with the purchase, so green for OP.

I am not sure who makes this bulb. If Feit or Light of America, they are junk. Burnt out way faster than advertised. GE is much better and more compact

Some CFL bulbs don't come on instantaneously. I have a bunch of CFL floods by FEIT that take like 2 minutes to "warm up" before they provide full brightness. Totally useless for use in the hallway where you want to really see where you're going as soon as you turn on the switch. I always see them on sale at my local Dixieline but I'm not buying FEIT CFL products anymore.

That's true, but my 13-watt Feit screw-ins do turn on instantly. I have a floodlight by GE that doesn't. From what I read, I get the impression that most screw-ins are instant on while floodlights take a while to warm up.

I've have had 3 Bright Effects bulbs in my outdoor light fixtures since around November 2006 (think they were FAR) with no issues. One fixture has it positioned horizontal, another "base up", and another "base down". This is in near-freezing temperatures and all that jazz with no issues. They are a little "dim" compared to my other Sylvania bulbs I have, but okay for a fixture where you don't need real bright light.

Not sure why yours are burning white. There are so called white burning cfl which are called "day light" CFL. only place I can find these is at Menards. The one I got from Lowe's are burning yellow. I have some from Sams club and they are same wattage however slightly brighter than these.
I am satisfied with these though. Green to OP.

your opinion??

I heard forming opinions based on what "is heard" is also bad for you.

I guess if you die from fluorescent lighting than that is the only way to REALLY know if its true.
But then what good is it?
