Went to the Home Depot in Sierra Vista last night. Looked high and low (thought I found one half the store over on the highest shelf (partially obstructed, only a portion of the spanish side showing), but found it to be the 5 gallow version when I finally got someone to take a look (35-40 minutes). Just before I left the store, the employee who helped me to look at that item told me that all 5 of the units they had in stock as of Saturday (two days before) had been clearanced to $0.01 and sold to Habitat for Humanity. Now, I like a good cause (and Habitat is a nice organization), but I know these will just show up in the Habitat store in Tucson for a premium. After all, these units are hardly appropriate for heavy duty home construction (and at least where I live, Habitat does the major framing and construction, but leaves the finish work to local charities). |

No go at Home Depot at Capitol Drive, or the one in Menomonee Falls, WI. Instead, I found an AllTrade compressor for $42 on clearance today from Checker Auto on 108th Street. If there is a compressor nearby on clearance, it should show up in the closeouts section of their webpage after you enter your zip code. Here's a Pic 6 Gallon, 3HP Just FYI. Not as good as the Ridgid deal from OP, but will have to do for now. |

Just FYI. Not as good as the Ridgid deal from OP, but will have to do for now. Not a bad looking unit. With 3 hhp it probably has twice the cfm than the Ridgid. |

Great find OP!! Thanks so much - now my dad does not need to borrow mine anymore Found one in Detroit today at 7 mile and Meyers - talked to an inventory team who got it down for me from the overhead - they were shocked one was in stock and that it was only $49. They asked how I knew about the deal and I filled them in on Fatwallet.com - they all programmed it into their blackberries and proceeded to check the store for any remaining stock. |

So - I'll fill you in on the rest of the conversation I had with them - they were from out of state and were there as part of some inventory control group - home depot aprons in hand, but a different name badge than I have ever seen at a HD store - we had a discussion as I said that their computer listed 3 of the SKU#'s in stock at that location. We looked throughout the store as I was going to pick one up for Lowprice who posted earlier he could not find one in Michigan and give it to him at cost - upon looking around we found they had mislabeled and misquoted the stock by including the larger 5 gallon dual stacks in the wrong inventory. I don't think I need to worry about them taking the local inventory But if I did error, I did it with the best intentions |

They only "showed up", because the employees thought we were from corp or something. We were dressed business casual, not your usual woodworking attire. |

Bmr4life said: NEVER GIVE OUT FATWALLET.COM TO STRANGERS OR WORSE, STORE EMPLOYEES!!!! While I sort of agree with you overall, the occasional like minded person isn't that big of a deal. No one can afford to get every deal, better than things just going unsold or only to store employees. But for sure a remote employee group has got to be about as bad as calling corporate and saying "there's a misprice" etc. To whoever did that, you do realize that's exactly the kind of people who get on Fatwallet and then snag every reported deal from all stores only for themselves, friends, or to increase the corporate coffers and curry favor don't you? BTW, you always always say a friend got one earlier and told you about the deal. That doesn't raise alarm bells and send people looking on the web.. |

Harbor Frieght How good are their air tools for the framing nailer and finish nailers? I need to build a large covered patio and some other minor stuff. I believe they sell Chicago Pneumatic as their brand. Most of the reviews seem to be negative but it may be from people expecting too much from a lower priced tool. |

Score 2 North Myrtle Beach SC. Went the other night, but none on the floor and didn't take the product number with me. Saw two in the rafters but box was exactly similar so thought it was the 5 gal one, didn't write it down but halfway remembered the number and thought it was the same so went back tonight at 8. Almost felt bad for so cheap and 2 older guys having to get it down from on high, manna from heaven. Damn it is quiet too for a good size air compressor. Put it in the next room or a box over it and another over that and you'd hardly hear it at all. Wanted one to keep up well with an airbrush or light air tool, this definitely fits the bill. Not perfect or silent etc, but for $104 for 2 with tax for me it's a steal. LOL.. Ebay 1 Ebay 2 |
