TYOP. i know he got RED, but i've seen dual core deals for $399 as well. i'm sure this laptop is a decent buy, but i personally don't consider it "hot" either. though i do wonder one thing... could these laptops be upgraded to core2 duo chips?? basically, could i buy this for my girlfriend for now, and then buy a core2 duo CPU? I work in IT, so i know how to do hardware upgrades, but curious if this laptop will SUPPORT it... i dunno what mobo it has. |

It's a nice price, but I don't think it's crazy... the max ram is 2gb... well, for XP that's plenty. I may pick this up if I can find out if a core2 would work in it. |

I may pick this up if I can find out if a core2 would work in it. Why, with 533mhz FSB...putting a dual core CPU in it would be absolutely a waste of money. It still still only run at 533. It's like sticking 4gb RAM into a system that can only utilize 1GB....waste of money. |

A 533mhz fsb T2330 would kill a 800mhz fsb T5270 in a heartbeat. |

FishyFlush, 533 vs. 800 mhz fsb is practically irrelevant with these bottom end systems. Assuming you have 2GB DDR2, the vast majority of the time, performance will be bottlenecked by HDD first, then graphics. People with needs where fsb speed matters shouldn't be using these systems anyway. |

Considering noone have had a duo core for sale for $399 for a few weeks, it a good deal. You can also actually buy one of these unlike other $399 lappy where they are gone within the hr. I saw about 30 when I bought one. For 90% of the people out there, this laptop is more than sufficient. Buy a 1gb for $20 and the laptop will run like a champ with 1.5gb installed. |

Yesidonoitall, you sour many discussions with your re-seller arrogance and no sales tax boasting (I'm pretty sure you're one of the "Nya-nya, I don't pay sales tax but you do" fwers.) Correct me on these two points if I'm wrong. Don't know why we'd expect different, given the fw username you picked. |
