What option do I need to add to T-Mobile's family plan to get unlimited data(internet)?

Is it T-Zones Pro?

Anyone know if this can work with prepaid?

Yes, just sign up for TZONE for $6 a month, but you need to do some hacking on your iphone 1st.

Excuse my ignorance but is this better than getting an Ipod Touch? Just doing a quick google search tells me that the only difference is that the iPhone is a little bigger and of course has phone functions but are there any other significant differences? For example, my friend at work has the Touch and I thought it was really cool that he could put old NES games on it but I wonder if it is possible to do with the iPhone as well.

Okay.
Great deal.
I just got an 8GB from the 745 Broadway store.
$249+tax out the door.
I already have an att account.

r.

I do too. But you can't put another phone's sim card into the iphone. Did you get a new sim card from the store?

745 Broadway? Manhattan? New Orleans? Shanghai?

Just went to two ATT stores in midtown Manhattan and they confirmed that the refurbs are only for new contracts...

Thanks for the headsup anyway, at least it got me excited for a while on this gloomy monday morning

can anyone confirm the warrantee period? 1 year is standard, but I've heard 30 days for these.

All Refurbished products form Apple have 1 year of warranty, but for iPhone in order to get it you must have an active account (new account/service/contract), if you unlock the phone you will loose the warranty.

These refurbished iphones must be either returned by customers or defective phones repaired by Apple/3rd party. Makes me wonder, why so many of them are available as refurbished.

You can use the SS# 999-99-9999 when activating your iphone to get offered the gophone pay as you go option without a contract.

Does that mean we can buy the refurb phone with a prepay plan without signing any contract in the store??

Thanks.

In theory. I havn't tried it, but it's floating all over the net.. if you use that number, you'll fail the credit check and be offered the pay as you go plan.

It's strange that some stores are only selling these with new activations. The store I went to said nothing about activating it there. They only took name and e-mail i assume to enforce 1 per person. Either my store or those stores are misinformed about the activation requirement.

Edit to add: the phone looked new, not a mark or fingerprint on it. it wasn't in the standard Iphone box, it was in an orange att box, but all the accessories were included: Dock, cable, AC adapter, headphones, book.

FYI with ATT you can sign the 2 year contract and cancel it later (just don't make any call) within 30 days, you do not have to pay the $175 termination fee. This is an ATT Policy (remember cancel the service but tell them that you want yo keep the iphone), a lot o people did that few months ago

The iPod Touch doesn't have the phone and bluetooth components. People who get the iPhone are actually looking for a phone. For those who aren't, they just by the iPod Touch.

None available near my place(NH). They knew about this, but expecting some shipments. Another store on my way to work has it, but wudn't allow without activating instore and only for new subscribers. Just walked away.

Because Apple products are very unreliable. Google up the failure rates. You'll be surprised at how high they are. For a while, 1 in every 4 Macs had to be returned due to failures.
