Does anyone know when the 3G one is coming out? Don't get me wrong, the iphone is hot, but the slow web browsing on it is a dealbreaker for me. |

psuJC said:ATT stores have refurbished IPhones on sale. The 4gb is 199, the 8gb is 249. In store only, as far as I can tell. Limit 1 per person.
They took my name and e-mail, but activation should be done at home via itunes. Picked a 4gb up for the gf.
Mine didn't include the simcard, so if it's a new activation you'll likely have to get one from the store.
you have to sign a new 2 year contract if you want to add the unlimited data plan to your existing att account, or to sign up for a new account. OR
You can use the SS# 999-99-9999 when activating your iphone to get offered the gophone pay as you go option without a contract.
OR
Use Ziphone to unlock your phone to use on T-Mobile or with your existing att sim card, or without a sim card, and just as an ipod. Which store did you buy your phone from? Can you post details? |

I got a 8GB Refurb iPhone at my local AT&T store in CT. Although they didn't activate my phone in store, they did ask for my ID and SSN and ran a credit check. They told me to activate through iTune within 30 days . I called AT&T later and they told there is nothing activated on my name and there are no contracts. Am I ok in just using it on T-Mobile ?????? |

Because Apple products are very unreliable. Google up the failure rates. You'll be surprised at how high they are. For a while, 1 in every 4 Macs had to be returned due to failures. Funny, the pros who figure these sort of things out by using reliable research rate Apple #1 in product failure rates...meaning they are the lowest. 1 in 4 macs?! I'll take the word of companies whose bottom line and reputation depend on accurate data over internet echo chambers any day. Stick to reliable data and not hearsay, you just look silly otherwise. |

Checkout Apple.com for to buy a refurb phone http://store.Apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=A8E6930F&nclm=Certified%20iPhone link worked for me. Doesn't say any service provider or contract. |

Does anyone know, if we buy this refurb with new activation in the store, and cancel before 30days, can we get to keep the phone? I don't mind running a credit check or a new line, as long as i can cancel b4 30days. I called up AT&T for brand new iPhone and they said, if we buy from them with new activation and cancel within 30days, no need to return the phone and no termination fee. |

well you'll still be responsible for $36 activation fee, and $60 monthly fee <- prorate, based on when you cancel. so all and all you'll be adding another $75-$100 to the price, if they make you activate. Which making the 8GB from Apple much more attractive, b/c of less issue to deal with. |
