Just a basic card if you need an emergency back up.
There is no free shipping, but if you saw it in the clearance bin for $7.00 would you buy it?

Linky

* Specifications:
Chipset:

* Geforce 6200LE

Memory:

* 256MB

Output:

* DVI/VGA

Interface:

* PCI-Express 16x

this is a good deal. I picked one of these FAR last time from frys. Threw it in my server since there is no noise, and I dont need it for any 3d stuff.

I would pick up another one, but I'm too cheap to pay for shipping

Wrong card.

While it may not matter to everyone, the OP's link appears to
go to a solid core capacitor card. if you live in an area with
frequent power surges or low voltage conditions, like I do
in South Florida I can personally attest to the reliability
of this card to hold up pretty well in my general use rig.

ok... nice oranges in the apple cart...

oh, and EVGA pays their rebates FAST!

Fanless too. Perfect for a quiet office computer or HTPC.

If you are planning to connect the dvi port to hdmi port of plasma then it might not work well.

got this same deal about 1 month ago.
Don't know if qualified for the rebate if I buy another one.

no free shipping. $5 shipping to OR.

im wondering the same, i got one over black friday

Is it available B&M to pickup? Thanks

no dual link DVI out. DVI only up to 1600x1200 res.

i'd buy if i see it for $7 without rebate...too bad no fry's in NY

I can't seem to check out at frys.com, anybody have this problem?

EVGA rebate is very good. Don't worry.

thanks OP. i know what you mean. their rebate is that good and fast. picked one up.. again. to stack, in SLI config ofcourse, on top of the one from last round sitting in the attic.

Where's the rebate? I don't see it on Newegg's site.

--who knows why i clicked the link to Newegg someone else posted...

also, that Newegg link is to a 512MB card and the frys one is a 256MB card.

From the rebate for on Frys site:

1. Purchase ONE of the above EVGA products at Fry's & Frys.com between 3/17/2008 and 3/18/2008. Request must be postmarked by 4/17/2008.

.

I saw this in today's paper and picked one up at the SW Houston Fry's. They had plenty in stock at 11:00 AM. A $5.00 PriceGrabber bonus rebate will cover your tax or help out on shipping.

PriceGrabber rebate EDIT: Dead now... RIP PriceGrabber rebate.

Anything else worth buying at frys.com to take advantage of the shipping charge?

Check the Fry's FAR thread and maybe you'll find something:

Is it too much trouble to read the instructions on the website?

The link just does to a page of reviews on the card. I don't see anything about any rebates.

expired about 10 mins ago.

Just ordered one. I figure it'll be good either a gift, for testing/backup purposes, or for a "server"/"basic" type of PC that you're not using for heavy 3D graphical / special video effects purposes.

It's also not bad since I can't likely use my old AGP cards in any new PCs even the basic use ones, so it's good
to have a cheap basic video card available that will continue to be useful for the next few years.

aprince1 said: If you are planning to connect the dvi port to hdmi port of plasma then it might not work well.

Can you elaborate?

I can confirm the other way around. I have a DVR that has a HDMI out which I hooked to a LCD monitor with DVI in. Often times it won't show the video.

I am building a new computer. The computer will mainly be used to photo editing (photoshop and lightroom). The only game being played on it will be SIMS 2; will this card do the trick?

Isn't this card weaker than most of the new motherboards with onboard GeForce 7xxx graphics?

Nice back-up video card. Great find OP.

I picked this up about a month ago, picked up at a local frys.
EVGA Rebate has already come through! Just make sure to pre register using the offer# at www.rebateshq.com

Also you can double your warranty by registering the card at EVGA site.

EDIT: the new rebate has a different program ID than the other one but it says LIMIT ONE per product so I don't think those who got in on the original offer can still order this again? Too risky for this item and $50 otherwise I would have got a 2nd. one.

Yep, that's true.

When you send in the rebate form for this (if you haven't already), make sure you send the serial number along with the UPC.
