Newegg have the PALiT NE/9600T+0152 GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail for 149.99 - 30Rebate = 119.99 + $6 shipping

the card perform better than a 8600GT but worse than a 8800GT

This is hot in that MSRP for the 9600GT are $169 - $185

WorldwideRebates.com is worse than a Kworld rebate where you need to go online to submit entries then fill out forms, mail those forms, then call them back after 8 weeks. It's still a gamble even after that. However, the rebate amount is small so it's worth gambling.

Core clock 650MHz
Stream Processors 64
Memory Clock 1800MHz
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Type GDDR3

Ports
HDMI 1
DVI 1
TV-Out HDTV / S-Video / Composite Out

SLI Supported Yes
Dual-Link DVI Supported Yes
HDCP Ready Yes
Two- Slot Innovative Cooler combines passive and active cooling to allow fan to run more slowly and quietly
External and internal SPDIFF input

This means you will loose a PCIex1 slot under the x16 slot so beware. However, very few people ever use that x1 slot when they use a powerful graphic card because that 1x card would block air circulation from the x16 and get hot so it's not much of a lost.

Rebate for "Purchase a qualified product listed on this form between the purchase dates of March 13, 2008 and March 31, 2008" so buy first and think later.

sucks i use the pci-e slot (vostro) for my tv tuner.

Uh, is this faster than a 7900GT? I checked Tom's Hardware site, but didn't see his video card roundup table that shows all the cards.

Thanks OP! Been waiting for the prices to drop, and the HDMI port is a major bonus for hooking to my 1080p projector.

Yes, it's about twice as fast. I swapped my 7950GT for a 9600GT and the difference is hard to exaggerate. Also, this is the shortest 9600GT I've seen. All the others I've seen (including the XFX I own) are very long cards.

Looks high quality. Great price.

According to wikipedia, Palit is the same parent company as Gainward, and I've been quite fond of their cards.

Can anybody say S-L-I? Should be a pretty kick-@ss setup for just over $200!

I am new to the PCI Express cards and picked up a De11 530 last week from a deal on here, it says it has one PCI Express x16 slot & this card says it has "PCI Express 2.0 x16" will this fit or does the 2.0 make it not fit?

Thanks,
Shuttle

This card should be compatible with your Dell 530.

Hi, this is the OP. I haven't check your system diagram but for $10 you can save your x1 slot if you go for this card: CHAINTECH GSE96GT GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 for $128.99 AR
The Chaintech one is unlikely to fit a Dell case though, the card is over 9" long and run hotter.

For those who don't know if they should wait: It's OK to wait. I am waiting to see the 9800 series too. Of course, it's not going to be $120 anytime soon.

Its no where near twice as fast. Quit talking out of your rear.

Sorry. It's much more than twice as fast.
