I scored on at the WalMart at coors and i40 in abq, and 6 remain. When they brought it out for me and mentioned the price, a couple other customers asked if they had anymore.

My 36" console (tube) tv was going to cost $300 to fix, so this was an easy choice.

Total cost after tax= $422.94
while definitely a decent price on the TV, I wouldn't exactly put Magnavox in the "name brand quality" category these days. I'd put them in with Vizio, Olevia's, etc. Pretty middle of the road at most.

Definately dont agree with that comment- Phillips-Magnovox has been around for years and has generally always been good quality. While not in the upper echelon like Sony, PANASONIC, or LG. I would say it is the brand right after them. Id easily take it over a similiar VIZIO and definately over OLEVIA. Definately a brand name.

Also even the extreme low quality brands like ILO (who?) lol, Ive never seen this low. Cheapest I ever found was $450 for a low level on sale refurb. So Id say its a great deal.

Was this an 'in store' special? The store near me in NJ has it, but not on sale. Does anyone know if WalMart will honor another store's price?

It did not say in-store special, just went to the electronics section looking for GTA 4, for PS3, and saw the rollback sticker for 399.00, gives me the feeling it was a clearance item. Just FYI- WalMart also offered an additional 2-year protection plan on it for only $28.80! I usually dont go for the pplans on top- but for under $30 seemed worth it since the set only comes with 90 day (!) labor warranty & 1 year parts.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I am sitting here looking at two broken Magnavox lcd tvs and a broken Magnavox dvd player. I even had an extended warranty on one of the tvs and I was told that there were no parts available, so my only recourse was a refund of the extended warranty purchase price. Furthermore, Philips outlet sure has a ton of refurb units for such a "high" quality brand.......

Can everyone post the stores where they are looking and the results!! Thank you!!

I just got one in Waldorf, MD. They had 3. I called about 6 or 7 other stores in the DC area. One store had plenty of them but was quoting me the $614 price over the phone. I noticed that my TV has that price marked on one side of the box and $399 on the other side. I used a theory that if I went to a store in an area where the customers would be in a lower income bracket, they would be less likely to buy them out even at this low price. I was right.

In my case unfortunately display was the only one left .. so I picked it up. Got additional 20% off $399. Payed $341 out-off-the-door.

It was already boxed and all .. checked to make sure all accessories were in there.

if this lasts 1 year .. worth it. Lasts more - my luck !!

I found one last night (Tuesday) at the WalMart in Kingstowne/Alexandria, VA. I was quoted $614 over the phone, but I asked the sales assoc. to ring it up- saying that I saw online it was an in store special- once she came back on the line she said, "Well, youre right! It rang up at $399!" They only had two of them at the time- I took one. She asked me where I heard about that price because it wasnt advertised in the store at all- even to employees. In fact they didnt even have this model on display at the time. I wonder if they are phasing it out? Anyway, it looks great, set it up last night and I love it! I did buy the extended plan, just in case.

(There is no mark on the box to indicate it's display/returned or re-boxed.) The manager would not give any discount by saying return it if $399 is not acceptable within 90-day return period for full refund. (Also extended warranty quoted was $48, not $28 one poster mentioned.)

Is there a consumer regulation against passing a display/returned unit as new?

I scored one of these in Hot Springs, AR (Albert Pike Road). The price was listed as $614 but I had them to scan it which, sure enough, came up as $399. As I was checking out, a group of rednecks bought the last one. I thought that I was going to bust out laughing when one of them said to the check-out lady, <redneck voice> "Hey, you got any Alvin and da Chipmunks?".

Don't know where your getting that info from - as far as im concerned and the many reviews of Phillips-Magnavox, id take it over any comparable Samsung, Sharp, Pioneer, and Toshiba TV. But hey, we all have our preferences.

LMAO, that would make one of you. Even better was the poster commenting that Magnavox is made by Philips, like that supposedly improves anything. HA HA!!

If it's associated to Philips, it's crap. Sorry.

This may be a good price on a 32" LCD, but let's not get carried away and delusional of the quality to price ratio. There is absolutely zero comparision between this and a Samsung, Sharp, Pioneer or Toshiba set. All of those will blow this set away, PERIOD.
