I have a Hisense LHD3206US that I bought over a year ago - which was more maligned than this Magnavox - and it looks great. Actually, I think it may have a better picture. While people like the person in the prior post wish the worst on others, I will continue with no problems just as I have with the Hisense. |

OMG can everyone just stop complaining about "oh its a magnovox, ahhh" geez its $400 32" lcd. Get the 2 year warranty for 28 bucks. I think $428 for 2 years of 32" lcd is pretty darn good. |

My base was not on tight either. You really have to tighten the screws down pretty hard so it does not tilt. But its seems fine now. I'm very impressed with this TV. It is a very simple and easy to use. It has everything I need from a 32 inch hdtv and the picture is quite good. bpcole said:Long time lurker, first time poster. =)
Picked up the last one at the Lawrence, KS WalMart this afternoon. It was hiding in the warehouse with no display model. The tag said $614 and when I asked the kid at the counter to check the price he about died laughing. Thanks for this great find. I'm in grad school and I'm finally replacing the 15 year old Sanyo that has served me honorably.
***Got it all set up tonight. The picture looks very good and I love all of the inputs on this thing. I'm running to the cable company tomorrow night after work to pick up an HD box. The only complaint I have is about the base. Anyone else have trouble getting the base on tight? I reattached it a few times and the screen still leans forward just a bit. It isn't a deal breaker, just a little strange. |

Whats up with this dude? You made your point and your opinion, so why do you keep thread crapping? I've had nothing but good with my Philips DVD player. So far, I've been very impressed with this TV. And for $400 bucks you can't beat this deal. quickNdirty said:cllamont said:I passed on WalMart warranty - they let you come back and buy it within so many days, right? I've been watching this thread for a couple days. I bought a 32" Toshiba online 2 days ago and just found out it's on back order for 4 weeks. Anyway I cancelled that order. Now I'm debating on trying to find one of these. I'm one of those WalMart haters, can't decide if I should put it behind me and just go get one or not. I guess I'll call around. Thanks OP |

I bought this from Target when it went on clearance a couple months back. I'm very happy with everything regarding this unit with the exception of one annoyance. Whenever you change the channel on the TV, it pops up a pretty large "status window" that covers about the top 1/3 of the screen for about two seconds. If you are using a cable box, it won't have any effect since you are changing the channels on the box and not the TV. Besides that one annoyance, I'm very happy with the set. |

You read it right, Now Philips and Magnavox brand TVs will be manufactured by Funai for next 5 years. But Funai is not some cheap chinease company, they are Japanease and they have very high QA standard compared to Philips. I know this because I have worked with both Philips and Funai. My team makes both hardware/software (excluding the panel) for these TVs. Funai QA team beat the hell out of our TVs and made us fix all the issues before going mass production. Most probably this Tv has Zoran chip and software. Unless it's there 2007 model being cleared out. |

I bought one today at the WalMart in Richmond, CA. It sounded like they had several more, and I don't think there was a display unit, so they probably won't go too fast. They have to "go upstairs" to get them. Thanks OP, I never would have found this deal. ETA - I called the extended warranty company, and they said you have 90 days after buying the TV, to buy the warranty. Good deal. The warranty company doesn't have a good BBB rating, but I'm not sure how seriously to take that. They may have dealt with some of the complaints without bothering to answer the BBB. |
