Ledoux289 said:I've been watching this thread for a couple days. I bought a 32" Toshiba online 2 days ago and just found out it's on back order for 4 weeks. Anyway I cancelled that order. Now I'm debating on trying to find one of these. I'm one of those WalMart haters, can't decide if I should put it behind me and just go get one or not. I guess I'll call around.
Thanks OP Get over it - you arent hurting anyone but yourself by passing up a deal like this. WalMart will be here long after youre gone. |

75 degrees, nice breeze, can't see the smog if you don't look at the horizon... I set this up at lunch. Programmed the tv to cable channels and looks ok. Stand does lean a little bit forward. Trick is to firmly press back of base toward t.v. and vice versa as you tighten all four phillips head bolts with the appropriate size screwdriver. HD channels look nice. My 12 yr. old son is gonna freak when he gets home from school in a few minutes. ( His parents being somewhat Luddite in nature, we were waiting for the crt tv to die.) |

Well I stopped by my local WalMart here in San Antonio and didn't see anything anywhere about a Magnavox 32". I saw a Westinghouse for something like $538.00, but I don't know much about them. I'll call around to some of the other locations. |

That seems about what the price should be Hey, Circuit City is selling them for $600. That said, when I bought mine the employee reaction was utter indifference This seems to be a bad time of year to buy a TV, very few good deals around. This is the best one I've seen for a while. |

Hey, Circuit City is selling them for $600. That said, when I bought mine the employee reaction was utter indifference So, I wonder if folks who want in on this deal PM to CC with that 110% price difference? Or is that still going on? I dont know, I dont have a CC within 200 miles of me. |

Just got home from picking mine up out in East Meadow, Long Island, NY... Called a few others in "the area" (Green Acres, Massapequa (Walmarts are few and far between in NYC)) and they didn't have them... When I called East Meadow they said they had 1 left. Got down there to see there were 2 in boxes with the $399 price tag and no display... They were both gone when I left (another shopper noticed my enthusiasm with it and was in the line behind me with the other while I payed for mine). Thanks go out to the OP... My total came to $453 with the 2 yr warranty (hope I don't need it)... |

LMAO, that would make one of you. Even better was the poster commenting that Magnavox is made by Philips, like that supposedly improves anything. HA HA!! If it's associated to Philips, it's crap. Sorry. This may be a good price on a 32" LCD, but let's not get carried away and delusional of the quality to price ratio. There is absolutely zero comparision between this and a Samsung, Sharp, Pioneer or Toshiba set. All of those will blow this set away, PERIOD. I have 3 Magnavox sets all bought 11 years ago when I got married. Never had ONE issue at all. One is going out finally and if I get lucky I will pick one of these up without a worry. BTW, I bought a Samsung tube 5 years ago and had to replace it last year already. I have Samsung DLP and love it but it is a replacement as well thanks to CC warranty and my Samsung LCD is about to be replaced by CC as well. Both lasted barely 3 years....PERIOD! |

I don't know about their LCD'S, but most Philips/Magnavox stuff is just labeled by Funai (the same company that brings you high quality electronics such as "Sylvania" and "Emerson" *sarcasm*). That being said, I haven't had an issue with Magnavox/Philips TV'S, but I did have a fairly expensive at the time, Philips VCR crap out in under a year (made by Funai). All in all, the quality is definitely not the same as it was 11 years ago. I guess it's the same for most products these days |

Just saw this for 319 at the Wal-Mart on Bell and Amarillo Blvd in Amarillo TX. It was on clearance with 3 other TV's. There was a decent price on a 720p 42 inch model for like 719, but I don't remember the brand, it wasn't vizio or ilo though. |

Unlikely, CC's policy is to only match advertised prices, and in my experience they are not generous with the PMs. |

hey guys .. how do you get to add the warranty AFTER the purchase .. I got my TV a couple of days ago .. after reading many view of the fw community .. I would feel safe in investing in a 2-year extended warranty .. now I went to another WalMart (the one I got the TV is 25 miles away) and the Employee is clueless as to how it ring up Extended warranty .. talks to a Customer Service Manager who promptly replies that I have to visit the WalMart where I got it from. Or get the TV into this store and they will return-rebuy and then ring up the warranty .. I know this could not be true .. any ideas ? thanks |

NCdallas said:I can't find any in the DFW area... they told me no stores around here carries the 32" Magnavox. Actaully I did score one tonight at the Wallyworld on 75/Central just north of LBJ/635 (across from TI). They were still marked at $615, but rang up at the $399. The cashier didn't believe it and called over 2 other electronics employees, and then 2 managers to verify before they would let me walk out with it. There were 4 of them (3 after me), but unfortunately while we were sitting there waiting for a manager, he was on the phone with his buddies trying to arrange some "financing" so he could get one. Best of luck if you want it hit it in the AM.... I didn't even have an idea for mother's day, but now won't my wife be surprised !!!! |
