Sorry for my ignorance...
GS < GT < GTS < GTX < Ultra for the same amount of Memory. Many thanks... Don't need it. But pulled the trigger for 1 for the FW's spirits. |

How does this compare to the $129 - $30 MIR EN8800GT/HTDP/256M from ZZF? |

I went in on a similar one at Newegg for the XFX 8800GT XXX 256MB version for $149.99 - $20 Promo Code - $30 MIR for $99.99 AR/AC. Guess I'll find out which one is better for the type of games I play! My monitors are all 1280x1024 LCD's so the penalty hit I'd take with a 256MB card should be minimal. |

The 192-bit/384MB memory constraint kind of concerns me. There are a handful of benchmarks here. More benchmarks in this review. The 8800GS isn't much slower because it has more shaders. In most benchmarks, they perform very close, the 9600GT has a slight edge. It looks like the XFX 8800GS XXX version (factory overclocked) is almost exactly the same in performance as a non-overclocked 9600GT. This eVGA card has the RAM clocked faster than the XFX version so that may help its performance as well. I think this is the best gaming card you can get at this price. |

How well will this do for HD content in case I get a Blu-Ray player for this? I want to build an HTPC, but will also use it for my regular computer use too. I don't play any games at all. Any chance this thing can hook up to HDMI with sound pass through like this one: Diamond Viper Radeon HD2600XT 256MB PCI Express Video Card $30 Only, I'm afraid of what people are saying about Diamond products and with the $50 rebate. Would this 8800GS be overkill for what I need from it? I wanna spend under $100 for my video card. |

An 8600GT scores ~90 in HD HQV (100 is perfect) in just about every review I've seen. That's what I would get for HTPC. The HD2600XT might be good too, I don't really know since I haven't read any reviews about them. I would only buy this if you plan to play games. |

I can't decide between 2 of those 8800 GS SLI ($160 AR) vs. 1 8800GT ($150 AR). which one should I get to play the latest games (age of conan, crysis,...), preferably at resolution 1680x1080 on a 22" LCD. Appreciate it if you have explanations and/or bench/proof. |

But Age of Conan doesn't support SLI. |

Pirate: Check the link below. I read that the fan is very quite and has a 4 pin pwm. Have you had any luck with rivatuner? Seems like it should work. 8800gs dealpirate said:Hi, I just bought this card, from frys and so far it's pretty sweet. only thing is that I'm having a hard time adjusting the fan? does anyone know what the deal is with this?
