On Newegg, the cooler looks different but the part # (384-P3-N853-AR) are the same.
According to the SKU# matching up to Fry's Online, it's the 650 MHz Superclocked Core.

Good luck budget gamers! $79.99 + tax (if applicable) + S/H (if online) for a 8800GS is smokin'!

EDIT: Thanks, pulverizer72. NOT B&M only! Online also!

Review of EVGA 8800GS 384MB

G92 Core, 24 less shader units and 4 less ROP

Most benchmark show between 10% - 30% performance decrease comparing to 512 MB 8800GT.

What is/are the difference(s) between GT, GS & GTS model?
Lastly, which one (GT, GS or GTS) is the best?

Sorry for my ignorance...

In for one.
Supposedly, it's a rebadged 8800GT with less ram. It's the same core and since it's already overclocked, it should compare favorably against a stock 8800GT.

I don't think anything in that thread stated it was a rebadged 8800GT, only that it had the 8800GT plate. Probably don't need to spread misinformation.

FINALLY, a budget gaming card deal that really IS a good deal! In for one, thanks OP!
$6.83 S&H for me.

It's not a rebadged 8800GT, they just used the same cooler. I think the reference design for 8800GS, 8800GT, and 9600GT all use the same style cooler.

In for one. Now what to do with the 8600GT I got a few weeks back from Amazon...

alert mods

Thanks OP, Nice dealio... In for one..

8800GS <> 8800 GT.

It has the G92 cores but 24 less shader units and 4 less ROP. Depends on game and benchmark it is about 10% - 30% slower than 512 MB 8800 GT. But at this price it maybe a good deal.

awesome, ordered 1 for media center

Considering this 8800GS is 40% cheaper than the cheapest active 8800GT 512MB deal I could find, I'd say there's no maybe about it, this is a good deal.

GS < GT < GTS < GTX < Ultra
for the same amount of Memory.

Just got one with instore pickup. Thanks OP!
I have been looking for a budget card.

There are exceptions to this, though.

The G80 8800 GTS with 640 mb is slower than the G92 8800 GT with 512 mb
