I completed an order on Amazon with Adorama as the seller. The receipt shows as Amazon so I don't think the rebate would fly. I cancelled the order. If anyone cares to try... have fun!

Read the special wording. it says to download the rebate form from Adorama website, so it should work.

Link to the item:

http://www.Amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000OFWJO6/ref=pd_luc_mri?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A17MC6HOH9AVE6&v=glance

It shows : "Ships from and sold by Adorama Camera"
$30.00 Mfr Rebate
(Offer details included in Adorama Camera shipment)

The rebate form can be found at Adorama.com here:

http://www.Adorama.com/IDSSD4GE3.html?searchinfo=sandisk%20extreme%20III%20sd&item_no=9

Hopefully the black card shown on the rebate form (SDSDRX34096) and the grey one shown on the site (SDSDRX34096A21) are considered the same and rebate goes through. Otherwise Adorama.com shouldn't advertise the rebate.

In for three of the 4GB SD cards. Ordered from Adorama through Amazon. I have done the same thing before (a year or so ago) and it WILL work. I remember that the invoice/receipt that came in the shipment mentioned nothing about Amazon, it only mentioned Adorama.

The A21 is the packaging that includes the card reader. Since Adorama and Adorama through Amazon both say it is eligible
for the rebate, there should be no issue. In my experience with Amazon, if a 3rd party causes a problem, Amazon credits you
the correction, so my advice is to buy it through Amazon for the better price and that protection. Adorama has always done right by me directly too though.

jkinfo said:Just being cautious as it is $110 MIR. The product on beachcamera has ID SDSDRX3-4096-A21 while the rebate has SDSDRX3-4096. Anyone who has done this deal already and got MIR, pls. confirm that this won't be an issue.
I have done this and the same issue came when I saw the post but they gave me the Visa Card.

Thanks all! Ordered the 3 4GB from Adorama/Amazon. Needed the memory for my Canon digital camera from the OD deal.

<edit> It is the Canon SD750 from the now expired OD deal.

It is dead now -- stuff had to be purchased by may 31.

alaazz said:Is it a good idea to use it as a general USB drive for daily data backup and storing? I do not have a device using SDHC card.

I wouldn't use flash for backups period. Flash has a limited shelf life of read/writes. They are getting better about randomizing the bits but still.. You'd be much safer getting a small external hard drive for backups (considering youre able to backup to a flash drive, guessing you dont need much room here..).

As a side note, for those of you that are running vista in 32x, you should be able to use these with.. ReadyBoost(I think thats what its called..) for Vista, giving your hard drives a little break.

Speed wise (for those unaware):

Cache > Main Memory > Flash > Hard Drive

so if you used 4-8gb of these as page files, you shouldn't have to touch your hard drive (theoretically)

Lots of uses for them:
If you have an MP3 player or
cellular phone that uses them they are excellent.
Also I put AUDIBLE books on them and listen on my GPS device.

cohenfive said:i think since everybody's buying these sd cards and likely won't need 12gb of storage space all the time, we need to come up with some alternate uses for them.....

pocket size toothpicks that won't puncture your skin while in your pocket?

bookmarks for really small books?

coasters in the barbie dream house?

??

in for 3. Wow, great find.

From the rebate form on Adorama- "Limit three cards per redemption claim." But it doesnt really say the number of limits per person or household.
Does that mean one can keep buying 3 cards per order and use more than one person in the same household?

Thanks OP, Got in through Amazon. great deal
