i did a search and found some sandisk rebate mention but wanted to post this up to be sure everyone saw the full detail on the rebates.

i bought a new extreme 3 (new faster version) 16gb cf card from buydig.com today for $175 shipped with a $90 rebate from sandisk. $85 net (the rebate is a visa prepaid debit card) is an amazing price for this new very fast card. from the rebate form it looks like sandisk is offering substantial rebates on all of their fast cf and sd cards. in fact the rebates get bigger the more cards you buy, so if you buy 2 of the 16gb x3 cards the rebate is $200....bringing down the average cost to $75 a card. i was tempted to buy more than one and try to resell but that's not my thing.

here is a link to the rebate to see what cards and what rebates at what stores apply:

this is a repost of a pretty common rebate that came up 2 months ago. Best price is getting 3 4GB ones for 126 bucks with a 110 rebate.

thanks, i knew there was stuff mentioned about the smaller cards but i didn't see anything listed about the larger cards (only cf format) such as the 16gb that i bought for my memory sucking d300. also this is for both sd and cf cards and includes everything including the greased lightning extreme 4 and ducati cf cards. just wanted to highlight the breadth of the rebates generally, all of which create really good deals for these high performance cards.

Thanks OP, I must have missed this when it was first announced.

Thanks, I'm in for 3 of the 4GB from Beach. ~$5 per card net is hard to beat!

I did this rebate and received the prepaid card in less than 4 weeks. That is the fastest I've received any rebate.

I’m guessing you need a special card reader and/or camera to use these cards? If so, anyone have any good deals?

Update: I ordered from buydig (using Live Search for $2.52 cazh back). The SDs come with their own card reader/adapter, so I guess I can use them as storage drives even if none of my cameras and mp3 players are able to see them.

the cf cards are plain old cf format, just really fast. i think at least some of these sd cards are 'sdhc' or high capacity sd format, in which case you need to make sure that your hardware is compatible. for the cf, no worries though, and my guess is that most new sd format cameras can take sdhc....but worth checking for sure.

Thanks OP! In for 3 4gb Extreme III SDHC

Not sure what I'm going to do with all of them but too good of a deal to pass up. At least my camera takes these, so I can semi-justify it. lol

ditto.

no way I can pass this up... thanks OP

nice deal! in for 3 from beach

Thanks OP!

I'm new ....but I always can use Sandisk CH cards.......

i think since everybody's buying these sd cards and likely won't need 12gb of storage space all the time, we need to come up with some alternate uses for them.....

pocket size toothpicks that won't puncture your skin while in your pocket?

bookmarks for really small books?

coasters in the barbie dream house?

??

The SD cards come with a USB reader. So you do not have to buy a separate one. Not sure about CF cards if they come with reader or not. I have done 3 4GB SDHC cards deal twice. Got the first pre-paid card. Waiting for the second one.

so is there no limit on the rebates you can apply for?

dont forget 2% CashBack from live search.

good one. loaded up on a few of these SD cards... GREEN

Is this deal from Sandisk or who?

yes, sandisk himself.

what's visa prepaid card?

too bad my Rebel XT doesn't support anything bigger than 8GB

Thanks OP, in for 3!

In 4 3 as well. Green!

thanks op -- i actually have no idea what the heck i'm going to use three 4gb SDHC cards for but i figure they'll probably be useful eventually. Thanks!

the rebates increase with quantity..one 4gb rebate is 30, but if you buy 2 it's 70 and three is 110. they must need to move inventory.

and buydig and beach are the same, reputable company.

Do any of you know if you can use the prepaid visa debit cards for online purchases? Say I bought 3 of these and then wanted to buy a camera, could I use the $110 online? Or do you have to use it in person?

now I use it regularly to watch video files. I have the Philips divx player that supports usb and this is really handy.
no need to burn/waste a dvd.
if necessary I cam recompress to fit in 4 GB which is not a big deal.

any all my cameras can use it too.

in fact the rebates get bigger the more cards you buy.

Thus I think there is no limit.

Nice find !

It just worked like a credit card on the one I got. Said debit on it, but it had a mastercard or visa symbol on it.

Not sure about using it online; it wouldn't have any address that could verified.

hi all:

Can anyone tell me what is the validity period of the prepaid visa card.

Just got 3 for 125...xx and should get back around 115 as visa card back.

Thanks,

Microzoft's Live Search (formerly Jellyfish) gives 2% back for Beach Camera.

Oops, someone already posted this on the first page. Oh well. Same thing applies to buydig (same place as Beach, AFAIK).

Who has the best price right now???

and which sizes?

I can use SD in everything....

and SOME of the CF in cameras...

and I also have a DVD player that will accept USB (movies on a stick!!!)

Thanks!

Thanks! Not sure how I missed the earlier post but thanks for getting my attention!

In for 3 4GB cards.

For a CF card, your 16GB deal is the best one. Like your previous post said, it comes to $85 for the 16GB card...three 4GB CF cards = $150 - $80 rebate = $70 but that is only 12GB over 3 cards. You could do 3 8GB CF cards, but you'd still have 24GB total over 3 cards rather than 32GB over 2 cards.

I'm buying two of the 16GB cards...one for my new 40d, and one for my father-in-law's d200 for Father's Day.

Thanks OP!!!
