If you use gift card and give them whatever phone number you want, they should not be able to block you. |

fw9999 said:...Or perhaps Toys-R-Us always asks for customer phone numbers - I don't shop there regularly enough to know. I think they always ask. In some areas store coupons remove tax and in some they don't so whether or not you get stuck with tax should be regional. I haven't tried this yet but I know that when I use store coupons (but not manufacturer coupons) at CVS and Target the tax comes off too. I'm in Los Angeles. Hopefully that means it'll work the same at TRU. Nephew loves these, so I hope I can still find it! |

All the phone number is for is to add you to their mailing list for coupons. It is also possible to use that phone number to research any transactions/guest issues (i.e. for returns, loss prevention issues, etc.) They do not "trace" your individual purchases, etc. TRU/BRU does not sell your name/phone number to outside parties. |

Thanks!!! This was a great Friday evening surprise for my 2 y/o nephew from his favorite aunt...he says Choo Choo, Choo Choo!!! In the pouring rain I drove straight from work to the TRU. 1 FW-er got there before me so when I asked the service girl where Thomas the Train stuff was she knew what I had. I actually found the same deal on SD and was able to print the product page with model, sku and product number...it took some looking but we found it. $0.91 at check out. No questions/no problems me and the check out girl just laughed. There were 3 left when I left the store but we read the coupon during our search and it was clear to both of us it was good on any TTT item for up to $12.99. - Fun Friday! Thanks again! |

I generally tell stores my number is unlisted or private when they ask for my phone number. If they are insistant, I tell them the number with one digit off just to insure I don't get the phone calls. But most are okay when I say it's unlisted. |

cedarperra said: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A good point in this case. However I have never been burned because of this. If you ask correctly first (do you have the item in stock) w/o telling them that it's this great deal and get their name they have no choice but to comply. Otherwise you bust them when you get to the store. Then their incentive is to not be dishonest themselves. This has always worked for me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great..... so YOU have never been screwed by calling the store... BIG DEAL! but when you call the store, you screw it up for everyone else, because the STORE calls corporate, and they shut it down! [Removed] Edit by Moderator: No name-calling please. |

Worked for me in Riverside, CA and Pomona, Ca (twice). Both locations would only take the wooden track series. I tried Trackmaster and Take-along series but the coupon would not apply to those products. The salesperson also said she has received about 15 coupons earlier in the day with customers trying different products including DVD's and only the wooden track products would be accepted. |

Per some of my friends in SF Bay area as of Friday evening, Sunnyvale, CA store is totally cleaned out and signed posted there is no more left. Redwood City, CA store only has 10 or so left. Foster City, CA store only has 10 or so Clarabels left. |

Worked for me in Spokane Valley. Got a battery operated thing with tracks and all. The coupon didn't work at first, but the store manager came over and looked. Then said to enjoy the train and I walked out paying $1.03 in sales tax. |
