Sorry for another long post but... here's my planned order, if anyone's interested: PalmŪ 4GB microSDHC expansion card with miniSD and SD adapters $39.99 - $8.00 (20% off code) - $20.00 (MIR) = $11.99 PalmŪ 2GB microSD expansion card with miniSD and SD adapters $19.99 - $4.00 (20% off code) - $15.00 (MIR) = $0.99 PalmŪ 1GB microSD expansion card with miniSD and SD adapters $10.00 - $2.00 (20% off code) - $10.00 (MIR) = -$2.00 PalmŪ 512 microSD expansion card with miniSD and SD adapters $19.99 - $4.00 (20% off code) - $19.99 (MIR) = -$4.00 Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and Franklin Thesaurus Card $25.00 - $5.00 (20% off code) - $25.00 (MIR) = -$5.00 Britannica Concise Encyclopedia $15.00 - $3.00 (20% off code) - $15.00 (MIR) = -$3.00 (*Money returned for profit in bold) FREE Shipping (and no tax in my state ) Total = $11.99 + $0.99 - $2.00 - $4.00 - $5.00 - $3.00 = $1.02 PROFIT! LOL Upfront cost before rebates = $103.97 - $104.99 (MIR) = -$1.02 EDIT: I found the MIR form for the 2gb card... it's only for $15, so I've made the adjustments accordingly above.
EDIT #2: Just placed my order... and almost FREAKED out! Clicked to continue with the order and the total jumped from $103.97 up to $129.97!!!!! I hit the Back button and the total went back down to $103.97! I thought maybe the 20% deal had expired while I was in my cart! Turns out the 20% off code had timed out or sumthin... Anyway, I had to enter the code on that next page in the first Gift Certificate number box (the one for GC #, leave the other PIN # box empty) and "Apply" it again. Done! THANX OP... for making me spend hours figuring this deal out to completion! |

Britannica Concise Encyclopedia AVAILABILITY: IN STOCK, usually ships in 1 - 2 full bus. days.As some of you alluded to earlier, the 2gb card is not available... and neither is the Britannica Encyclopedia, according to an "Advanced Sale Confirmation" (????) e-mail I received from Palm (even though the website indicates they are "IN STOCK"). According to that e-mail, these are "advanced sale items that are unavailable for immediate shipment." Wha???? Are they trying to tell me that they are going to hold off sending them until the rebate expires so they don't have to honor the rebates? but . This is just FYI, in case anyone's looking to order. I sent a reply e-mail with the "IN STOCK" availability from their website for each item pasted in it asking when they expected the items to "become" available. I'll keep you posted. It's still a great deal that shouldn't be passed up! Thx again, OP. P.S. Does anyone have an idea of how much room is on one of those software cards (dictionary/thesaurus & encyclopedia)? I've never purchased preloaded software on a card, but was wondering if both programs can be loaded onto one card (maybe my new 2gb or 4gb?) and the original cards can then be wiped and reused. TIA. EDIT: The Palm rep said when items are listed as "advanced sale items," they are actually items not in stock at their facility, but at another facility or vendor. He said the availability is accurate and the "advanced sale items" will be shipped according to the availability terms indicated in the listing for each item - they will just be shipped separately. Hmmmm... if that's the case, then why didn't they indicate that initially? Sounds kinda fishy. I don't know if I trust their info, but their replies are prompt. [P.S. Thx for the info, JB... and kudos on getting all your items shipped + a couple extra bucks in your pocket ] |

From the preloaded cards I have purchased, they are not writable, and copying them onto a regular card gets mixed results. I couldn't get the app to load from a regular card. Didn't try long, but just a simple copy did not work. |

Another question regarding the preloaded cards... My son has a Palm (recently got it as a gift), I've got an older iPAQ... If my son doesn't appreciate the gift , would I be able to use the software on my iPAQ? I'm assuming I would not be able to use it due to compatibility issues, so I'll plan on forcing him to carry around some educational software , but I'm not very familiar with Palms and we've never really discussed software issues. Maybe one of you Palm-knowledgeable FWers can give me some insight. Thx. |

If there is one version that is available for Win CE then u can use it in Win CE. Generally they have both versions. but u can better check the compatible devices list and if there is some win CE items then it should work on any win CE system. Edit: I think the answer is NO. All the list is for Palm OS device only. I could not see any card compatible with Treo 750 (which works on Win CE) |

Is it a dead deal now? if so, i may have to return the card and eat the shipping cost Sorry, I should have posted this earlier when I had to search all over for it. Link to $15 MIR for Palm 2GB MicroSD card w/ Mini & Full adapters You've got the rebate form, and you've made the appropriate purchase to qualify. Palm will have some pretty angry customers on their doorstep if they decide not to honor any of the submissions.
IF Palm claims we're not entitled to the rebate because the rebate link was not included on our invoices, we can explain that we downloaded the rebate form while we were in the process of researching our purchases, then we returned to their website later and made our purchases. Many consumers spend a lot of time price-checking and looking for rebates/coupons, so it's not out of the ordinary for someone to find a rebated item and download the rebate form, then come back to the website a week later to make the purchase. The purchase was still made within the terms of the rebate form, so it's still a valid purchase and the customer is entitled to submit the rebate form and expect fulfillment. There's currently nothing posted anywhere where we would see it indicating the deal is dead. Until some kind of notice is posted, I'm going to assume they just forgot to add the link to the rebate form on the listing page when they got more of them in stock and they still haven't put up the link. |

You can run Palm programs on an iPAQ by using StyleTap, which is a PalmOS emulator for Pocket PC. It works pretty well, but costs $50.

In for 2GB + Scrabble/Monopoly/Yahtzee/Battleship + Dictionary What's your order status? When I ordered the Scrabble/Monopoly/Yahtzee/Battleship it said in stock when I checked out, but then I got an email that is was backordered. The website still says "IN STOCK", but my order still shows "Special Order: Awaiting inventory" |

I got two emails. One for the 2gb and S/M/Y/B that states they are "advanced sale items that are unavailable for immediate shipment" with no dates and one for the dictionary that states it will ship soon. When I got the same e-mail msg, I got concerned about the rebate dates so I shot a msg right back (see below). Their CS is prompt when replying to concerns, but I don't think I can trust the information provided, specifically the highlighted info. I'm not holding my breath that the encyclopedia software will be shipped within the indicated "1-2 days" but, since the rep assured me it would, I'll make sure to call and complain in 1-2 days. --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Valued Customer, If you received an Advanced Sale Confirmation email regarding a product or products on your order, please note that we try to ship all of our orders within 1-2 business days of receiving your order.
