Went to local OD and got it price matched to BB. Luckily when the cashier rang manager, manager told him how to override price over their headphone sets instead of coming up. At checkout cashier noticed that a rebate had also printed, and after asking manager by headphone, told me he could not give it to me. Oh well? :-p

Anyhow, should have gotten the M1522nf for about -$20 (cash in pocket) after rebate and taxes. This is completely YMMV but worth a shot.

I called HP this morning and asked about OD not advertising the rebate. They said that it would not be a problem since OD is one of their retailers. She said I will get the rebate. Also, I asked about the 20% coupon. She said that if it is not HP then I should get the rebate. She took down my name and address to document our conversation. FYI.

Same here. At this point I think the deal is low risk.

I went to Staples and tried to price match with BB price but I was shot down

As per policy, Staples calculate net price after deducting rebate.

Could there be any issues with the OM coupon? I don't forsee any issues since it doesn't require UPC but address looks way to close for comfort.

Office Depot
Offer #OD1202435
PO Box 751229
El Paso, TX 88575

HP rebate goes to:

They're going to the same rebate processing company, that's all. Here, read this (written by yours truly):

OFFICIAL PM/MIR/"Will I be denied a MIR because of a PM" info

That should explain most everything on how MIRs work. All the processing company is looking for is the item, the required documentation, the purchase dates, the purchase place, and the amount of the rebate.

Just an FYI; installed my printer on the network this morning, and checked HP's website. There is a firmware update for the M2727nf, dated June 12, 2008 (LJM2727_FW_Update-20080612.exe). My HP 2727nf had firmware 20080118 on it (Jan 18 2008); not sure what the new firmware does, however.

Also noticed that the HP ToolboxFX says the print cartridge has 2999 pages remaining; I thought this was a 7,000-page cartridge? Maybe HP only includes the smaller print cartridge or something...

That's right. Included is HP 53A (Q7553A) Black 3000 pages $80.99 cartridge. There is also HP 53X (Q7553X) Black 7000 pages $147.99 cartridge. It is a common practice to supply a starter cartridge with a printer.

BTW, the duplexing feature not only takes forever to work, but also makes as much noise as gas.

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming it. Will be picking up one of these when I need to get a replacement:

Edit: Save $3 and get the 7000 page Q7553X Remanufactured Toner Cartridge Here instead of the 3000 page Q7553A Cartridge
$36.95, or two for $60.40 ($30.20/each) seems like a very good deal.

Especially like the ability to scan from the network, so I can use my wireless laptop now to do pretty much everything, no need to remote into one of my other computers and work on a USB-connected printer.

So I went to OD and price matched with BB for m1522nf and got with $263. Manager said, they can't give me $100 OD rebate form, I said fine. Bought one for me and one for my brother on separate receipts.

So I believe, I can get the OD rebate form online, right? and same goes for HP rebate. If it goes through, this is sweet, real sweet deal.

It seems that we can buy three printers. Can we buy three different printers and submit the rebate form for HP rebates?

hechuanhua said:It seems that we can buy three printers. Can we buy three different printers and submit the rebate form for HP rebates? The HP MIR form does appear to say one rebate per qualifying product, so in theory, yeah, you could do that.

Me, I'm quite happy withh the M2727nf...damn nice printer, and I tell ya, I'm liking the scan and/or print through the network.

Do both the HP and OD rebates allow you to purchase 1 of each model per address? I thought the OD rebate was limited to one rebate per address.

Here's a question for anyone paying attention and who might know the answer: the HP M2727nf comes with 64mb RAM, and is expandable to 320mb (has a single 144-pin DDR2 RAM slot, so max memory size upgrade is 256mb.) What would be the purpose of upgrading the RAM? The only thing I can think of is that maybe it could hold more fax pages in memory or something?

how are the refil prices on these? decent enough? and can u do custom refills or u have to get these ones?

For the M2727nf, you can get the 7,000-page cartridges (remanufactured) for ~$36 from Meritline.com, or two for $60 and change (coming out to ~$30 each), which is a decent price IMHO.

Guys!

OD will have this HP m1522nf printer on sale for $260 w/o the $100 rebate, but it is still cheaper if you were to buy it on Sunday instead of buying now. Also, you will only be dealing with one rebate, the $200 HP one.

Here is the break down:

$260 - 20% OD coupon (-$52)- $200 (HP Rebate)= $8 + Tax.

There might be a glitch though.

The 20% OD Coupon states it is for printer $299 and up.

I don't know if they meant original price or the price that you pay. If they mean original price, then buying it on Sunday would be cheaper, but if they based it on the sale price, then buying now is a better deal.

Does anyone know how OD works regardging this $299 threshhold?
