For the M2727nf, you can get the 7,000-page cartridges (remanufactured) for ~$36 from Meritline.com, or two for $60 and change (coming out to ~$30 each), which is a decent price IMHO.The major problem with all remanufactured is that they might have toner of different quality. Some will be too light, others too dark. Never know before you buy. The best deal is to buy the OEM toner and change it yourself, but I don't see that available anywhere in the U.S. |

HotStuff2 said:Here's a question for anyone paying attention and who might know the answer: the HP M2727nf comes with 64mb RAM, and is expandable to 320mb (has a single 144-pin DDR2 RAM slot, so max memory size upgrade is 256mb.) What would be the purpose of upgrading the RAM? The only thing I can think of is that maybe it could hold more fax pages in memory or something?More pages of anything...multi-page documents you're printing, more fax pages in memory like you said. More of an issue in business environments where you have the printer networked and multiple people are printing at the same time while faxes are coming in (for example). |

OD will have this HP m1522nf printer on sale for $260 w/o the $100 rebate, but it is still cheaper if you were to buy it on Sunday instead of buying now. Also, you will only be dealing with one rebate, the $200 HP one.
Here is the break down:
$260 - 20% OD coupon (-$52)- $200 (HP Rebate)= $8 + Tax.
There might be a glitch though.
The 20% OD Coupon states it is for printer $299 and up.
I don't know if they meant original price or the price that you pay. If they mean original price, then buying it on Sunday would be cheaper, but if they based it on the sale price, then buying now is a better deal.
Does anyone know how OD works regardging this $299 threshhold?Uh, yeah....it has to be $299 or higher. If it's $260, you can't use the coupon. Duh.

For the price at Meritline (less than 1/3 the cost vs. buying from HP), IMHO it's worth the "risk".

Calling the store and speaking to a CSR who works there typically results in the CSRs hiding and/or buying up all the items for themselves/friends, which is why we say not to call. |

You can buy the m1522nf in store today: $400 - 20% OD coupon (-$80) - $200 HP rebate - $100 OD rebate = $20. Make a copy of the receipt (dated 07/05) for the $100 rebate. Then go to store on Sunday to price matach, and get $140 back. Finally price: $20 - $140 = making $120. There might be a glitch though. Sometime OD rebate center may notice you already price matched and declined $100 rebate. So YMMV. dmv71 said:Guys!

isHP LaserJet M1319f very bad? I have ordered it @ Newegg. $100 after rebate. But just after ordering, I found some people complained about this printer for its problems with software settings, and its fax doesn't work at all. |

Rumor has it the HP LJ M1522NF printer will have a $140 INSTANT rebate starting tomorrow at Office Depot (or is it $120?). Can anyone confirm? I picked up the last one from the Miramar location in San Diego... Thanks for the post OP! Edit: Looks like I didn't read the thread closely enough--others have mentioned the $140 instant also. |

OK, I finally made it to OD today. Tried to PM the M1522nf to BB...manager agreed, but only at $363.99 - $100 OD rebate, making it the same after rebate as out the door at BB. With that choice, I will go to BB. Tried to PM to Staples, with the larger rebate...no go at all. I decided to buy the M2727nf (knowing I can return it if needed), took it to the register, they rang it up and demanded my ID(drivers license) when I tried to pay with my credit card. I refused because my credit card is signed on the back and no ID is necessary. Manager went to "research" if ID is required. I waited a few minutes, then told them that they are making a big mistake, as I can not wait any longer and left. I will report them to the credit card companies on Monday. Has anyone else had a similiar problem with OD lately? I have shopped at OD for many years, but have never had this problem before. Is this a recent change? Anyone have any more insight on this? Hope everyone else had better luck. |

What a day dream. the "price match" you mentioned is always treated as return and rebuy in the OD system, as well as your final receipt. when OD rebate center process your rebate, they will find out your actual purchasing date is not in the valid period and no phone call can fix this. kaola said:You can buy the m1522nf in store today: $400 - 20% OD coupon (-$80) - $200 HP rebate - $100 OD rebate = $20. If you can make an driver's license for anyone, and it looks real (or is real), PM me. This I gotta see. "Checking your ID is for YOUR protection." -- That is always the merchant's excuse, but it is a lie. OD is really worried about MY procection!! They have NO interest in their protection? Do you really believe this? Also, I do not want and will not accept their offer of "protection." What is OD protecting me from? Actually, it opens the customer up to identity theft more than we already are. Going around showing your ID(drivers license) to every low paid clerk is REALLY asking for trouble. Identity theft is the fastest growing crime, or have you not heard. Dishonest clerks supplement their income by selling credit card numbers and drivers license information or using it themselves. As for the "moron" part, send me your credit card number and ID, just like at OD and we shall see who the "moron" really is. And you also think it is "stupid" to protect your identity by NOT showing your ID to every clerk in town. Well, I will be kinder and just say that you are uninformed. You really want to see a driver's license from "unofficial" channels? I could print you one, except OD "protected" me by NOT selling me a printer. No printer, how could "I" possibly print one. But seriously, locally we have news stories all the time where the cops have busted people printing driver's licenses and just about any other document needed. They also bust people making their own driver's license and doing their own "shopping." Locally, these type stories are not uncommon. It is very scary. Just follow the rules and check the signature. |

Return/rebuy would defintely invalidate the rebate. I would suggest doing an exchange and insist on using the 20% from last week if possible, in that way you can send the rebate with the copy old receipt and a copy of new receipt. Still we would end up making $40 or even more if 20% is accepted. |
