They no longer take voice inqueries "due to the volume of queries". That's why I ended up emailing but got failed delivery. Already resent and will see whether got any reply or not.

Could not send or save due to an illegal address. I think we are screwed
Try right now my went out fine. You can also call them over the phone.

Thanks. It worked.

They never replied to 3 inquiries I sent, including to "Matt" and his "supervisor." Phone is now disconnected. Perhaps they're enjoying our money on the beach in Brazil.

I didn't buy this, but I did buy a Trust Illuminated Keyboard with a $20 rebate back in July. My suggestion is for anyone with an outstanding rebate go directly to Circuit City. If you go to the lhbrands web address that they list on their rebate form, it's just a parking page with a bunch of cattle branding links now. I also echo the experiences from the others here on their phone. When I tried, I got the "due to high inquiry volume" message, too. Nobody's getting anything back from them.

Anybody had any success contacting Circuit City? I tried to call the customer service and the rebate processing center with no resolution. I was finally given a number for "Manufacture Rebate Resolution Line", after following the promp for manufacturer sponsored rebate, I was told "you have reached a non-working extension for Circuit City at ..., please check your number and dial again". Talking to the customer service representative is absolutely a waste of several hours with no help. Anybody out there have a direct contact with Circuit City customer relations?

I called today, but rebate customer service said it is not a Circuit City rebate. It is a manufacturer rebate, so Circuit City won't help with this. Next step is to contact the manufacturer, "Trust". They have a web site. If anyone tries calling the manufacturer, please let us know the outcome. Good luck!

Trust web site: www.trust.com

Two routes to contact the manufacturer.

1. Click "contact us". This is mainly for resellers, but may get the company's attention since this is partly a reseller issue (rebates for purchases from CircuitCity.com, the reseller).

2. Click "support", and find the product number. The model is MI-6200, item #14462. Then send the message to them.

Don't forget to include details about inquiries to and replies from our friends at lhbrands.com so the problem is clear.

I tried route 1 on 12/18/2008 with no response so far. Will try route 2 to see whether it helps. I wish there is something we can do to get these people behave themselves.

Tried to call CC again today, was told by a guy named "Perranca" claiming that he is the highest level I can talk to in the Escalation Team in CC, and no help offered to manufacturing rebate. My understanding is that retailer IS responsible for all the rebates being correctly processed, right? That's why OD, Newegg, CompUSA,... etc honors manufacturer rebate. I guess since CC is gong bankrupt, they don't care about their reputation any more!

This company is a total sham. I bought their wireless kb/mouse combo and the mouse died (within 2 months), so I emailed them about getting it replaced. They're based in the Netherlands, so they told me to return it to my retailer. Of course, I had cut out the UPC for a fking rebate, so I could not return it, so I am screwed. I still have not received the check for that rebate either. I replied with that info and they told me that I was out of luck. Sleazy fking company. STAY AWAY.

I emailed for my rebate status today and got an automated reply from Matthew Daivd:Hello,

I am currently out of the office attending CES 2009. I will have limited access to e-mail, however, the TRUST booth will be located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall in case you are also at this show (as so many in our industry are).

I will do my best to respond to any and all e-mails I receive while away from my desk this week, however, please be patient as I might not be able to attend to each and every matter until I return on Tuesday, January 16.

Matt
So, if any FatWalleter affected by this sham is at the CES show in Las Vegas, get hold of Matt for some answers.

And of course that follows after two weeks of out-of-the office:

Thanks for your E-mail.

I will be out of the office Starting Tuesday December 23 and will be returning Monday January 4. During this time I will have limited access to e-mail.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Were screwed. You win some and you lose some. Should we keep up the fight on a losing battle?

Any news?

alert mods

None. My repeated emails to them have fallen on deaf ears and they don't accept phone calls anymore. I would be willing to invest a few hours to get them wrangled up in legal rebate issues if someone can guide me what steps to take.

I think a class action lawsuit would be the remaining step to recover the rebate money. I think Lighthouse Brands was a partnership, not necessarily limited liability. So the individual partners are liable for the company's debts when the company goes out of business. Complaints about the manfacturer, Trust International B. V., may be worthwhile since that company is still operating.
