Bottom line is OD IS a qualifying reseller WITH an ad, that every CSR (ID;s posted) has confirmed. Mind boggling.

It really looks and seems to be that HP wanted to make a point that "Best Buy, Office Max, etc" are excluded from this rebate thus the "qualifying ads/sellers" wording.

While somewhat confusing, I think HP thought they needed to put this extra wording in there so people didn't buy from the above sellers and complain when the rebate did not come thru.

In that case, it leaves you to "decide" if it is discount sale or not. Besides, normally, the "combined" means normally from HP, not from the retailer. Better yet, use the "OLD" receipt ($399 one) of last week to send in the rebate for safe reason. Of course, not all of the FWers here bought it last week.
People, it will be through, I have the same suituation before, and eventually, it went through w/o any glitch.

So.. $180 instant rebate considered as discount. In this case, $200 rebate will not be honored as per Rebekah's conversation.

In think that particular term is referring to other HP rebates and offers. Almost no retailer sells at MSRP, so essentially every purchase has a instant rebate, discount, or is on sale. If they wanted to rule out all those sales, I think they'd say "only valid on printers costing more than $_____."

But that's just my opinion, and it's also my opinion that I'll be getting that $200 rebate check. Time will tell!

I agree that it should fly, because:

• I talked to the HP Rebate center on phone, confirmed that $200 rebate in the offer # S129 will apply if the printer is purchased from Office Depot. She took my name and address and gave me a confirmation number for this conversation.[/

EasyRebate submission available as well once the unit is delivered (serial number is needed). This is the route I am going to take. Thanks OP and MitchK.

Just a quick piece of info for those who haven't sent in their rebate yet. Talked with HP rebate CSR who said that they would accept a photocopy of the UPC/serial number label. I'm gonna try it & keep the printer sealed in the box (for return if necessary). Now to get the hair dryer & tweezers.
