From tomorrow, OD will have this printer for $260, HP has a rebate offer for $200, the link is

http://www.shopping.HP.com/shopping/pdf/rebate_s129_lj_mfp_6-29.pdf

Also few days ago I have received an OD coupon book with a 20% off coupon, I hope it will work for this deal.

Last, but not least is OD will have a $40 old printer trade in next week, not sure about this many coupons' impact on the rebate.

Anyway, hope this can be a sweet deal.

Please be gentle, if there is any problem with this deal.

do we need to worry about any instant rebates conflicting with the MIR?

OD rebate is fine. (this week OD has it. maybe not next week.)
The worry is on the HP rebate, which got quite many complaints recently. Basically HP denied many rebates since it is not advertised on the reseller (OD)'s webpage, even if the rebate form does not explicitly exclude OD and some ppl even got "OK" from HP rebate center in advance. This happened with previous HP Laserjet deal.

The coupon will not work with this deal. It require a price of at least $299.

Based the below copied from the rebate details the HP rebate should be fine with other OD coupons. I would not try the trade in offer since that would fall under the national offers as mentioned below.

This offer may NOT be combined with any other HP national offers unless specified by other programs. All products, including eligible products referenced herein, purchased from Best Buy Inc., Best Buy, BestBuy.com, OfficeMax retail, OfficeMax.com are not eligible to receive mail-in rebates. Submitted mail-in rebate requests containing products purchased from these resellers will be denied

I don't see a minimum price

Rebate info on HP site

He is refering to the 20% off coupon ..not the rebate.

20% coupon is only good for HP printers over 299, and excludes discounted and clearance printers. So won't work since this will be on sale.
Is there a link to the Ad?

There is a much better rebate posted over on SD for the exact same amount. Search for the thread on M2727nf. It doesn't have any of the funny conditions on it. This rebate is for the business and resellers. The other one on SD is for the end users.

Use www.HP.com/go/sS129 rather than offer #2535.

Picked this baby up today - Thought it was a great deal when I was getting it for $99 - saving another $40 is even better! I'll just go back to get a price adjustment this week (don't have to wait for rebate and get more $$ in my pocket!)

Printer is on sale starting today for $259 - Rebate is for $200.

*You can't use the $40 printer trade on anything that is on sale; it has to be regular price. I have a copy of the flyer that i picked up from the store and it states it right in the flyer; the online site is still showing the July 4th flyer...and mines in the car.. sorry.

Great deal though, and she is a beauty! Thanks FW!

Link for Business Version of Rebate
Wow, that was hard.

Here's a direct link to this printer, which is a monochrome LaserJet for anyone not familiar with this specific model number:
Link to OD for the HP LaserJet M1522nf

I'm thinking about getting this but the fine print on the rebate says "Offer good on purchases made between June 29, 2008 and Aug 02, 2008 of HP printers (LaserJet M1319f, M1522nf, M2727nf) with qualifying reseller ads.." OD is not advertising the $200 rebate. After doing a quick online search, only a few stores are advertising it (HP, Staples, Newegg, TigerDirect). I'm wondering if the rebate will be rejected because of that.

OD is advting $40 off for exchanging old printers..I have a old HP AIO so cant I get $40 off for this one?

That point was brought up in this thread. A few users called the HP rebate center and seemed to verify that it is not an issue.

That trade-in promotion is not valid on sale or clearance printers.

BrianGa said: do we need to worry about any instant rebates conflicting with the MIR?

Yes we do. This printer is advertised with $140 Instant savings

1. The business rebate states in item 1: THIS OFFER MAY NOT BE COMBINED WITH OTHER HP PROMOTIONAL OR DISCOUNT OFFERS SUCH AS HPEDUCATION REBATES, BIG DEAL PRICING, ******INSTANT SAVINGS, SPECIAL PRICING*********, RESELLER OFFER OR VOLUMEDISCOUNTS. DISCOUNT OFFERS MAY NOT BE COMBINED......

2. The Personal rebate states that it must be purchased with "QUALIFYING RESELLER ADS"

The $140 instant savings kills #1.

OD does not mention the $200 rebate......does that kill #2? I think it prolly does. Too risky for me.

Purchased today 7/6.

Receipt printed out at $259.99 before tax no mention of discounts, instant savings or sales price on receipt itself.

I had no coupons or trade-in at time of purchase.

Should be good for rebate.

Why is he naive? Just curious.

Just don't use the business rebate offer. Use the one that is posted by member called divia. That one has not mention of "instant savings." That one should fly. However, it is still YMMV at this time. I am in though.

Why dont just read the rebate form. "Offer good on purchases made between June 29, 2008 and Aug 02, 2008 of HP printers (LaserJet M1319f, M1522nf, M2727nf) with qualifying reseller ads. Products purchased before or after these dates are not eligible for this offer. Purchase date is determined by invoice or receipt date. This offer may NOT be combined with any other HP national offers unless specified by other programs.

This is not advertised as $60 AR so if they deny the rebate (which they may according to similar deals) you will have NO chance in getting that $200 as they are following the terms and conditions.

This deal is a gamble. People buying this printer are only hoping they will pay out the rebate. The terms and conditions CLEARLY state that for the rebate to be valid it must be advertised in the specific retailer AD, which it is not here hence the rebate is NOT valid for this deal. Like I said, its a gamble and if they deny it you LOSE. Have fun.

Most rebates on SD or FW are a gamble. However, many people, including myself, had called the HP rebate center and asked specific questions about this(including question about "reseller ads". More than one rebate staff had confirmed that rebates will fly with OD purchase, regardless whether they advertise it or not. Most people had their conversations documented, like myself. HP is very careful about conversations the have with customers. Hence, they document them. Withat being said, to each his own. I already bought mine. Good luck to everyone! When in doubt, call HP rebate center yourself and have the conversation documented.

Not available at my location from OD . . . missed it.

I just called and the CSR verified it, he researched it for a couple of minutes, logged my name address and phone, and gave his name and ID number. Offer # S129. Thanks OP; if this works it'll be the best deal for me this year so far!

Onion, glad to see you again here, how many have you purchased so far? Hehe, just let you guys know HP is pretty lenient to their customers on rebates, of course, there is always BBB/AG/etc. to file complaints, however, the part of "retalier's ads" is of debate though. Then, how they will verify each and every retalier's ads when they process it? No, they will not.

Bobobo said: Then, how they will verify each and every retalier's ads when they process it? No, they will not.when they get thousands of rebate submission for OD purchase, definitley they will check. and HP has always been good and strict on what is written on the rebate form.

I also called HP (Compaq) rebate line - they told me this would qualify - and they do log your name and address along with the fact they pre-approved your rebate.

Just picked one up - looks okay. The toner can be refilled - although since it's chipped your printer display will continue to have the "low on toner" alert.

Edit: And the CSR was kind enough to allow me to use the $20 off coupon even though it excluded tech items.

Thank you OP & OD CSR!

But it also states in that condition that purchase from BB and OM are not eligible for rebate. Doesn't mention OD at all. Hence, this rebate, should work.

I call them and they said 'No'. This is only for Some special stores.

OK, three yesses and one no. Any other "no"s out there?

sixpackdate said: OK, three yesses and one no. Any other "no"s out there?

What did they tell you when you called them?

I'm one of the yes's, see above.

I'm in no rush to open it up and submit, so I'll just chill a couple of day's and check the boards.

I called, they said yes. I called back and confirmed that they had logged the earlier call along with the info, so I feel pretty confident to go ahead and send in the UPC.

If this was TigerDirect or some of the other companies I'd probably opt out, but HP and Staples have always been very reliable for me.

I called HP's rebate center. They documented my information and told me that the rebate would be valid with a purchase from Office Depot.

Kevan

I called HP, and was told the rebates is good for Office Depot.

I hope this is the question asked:
Is the rebate valid for purchase at Office Depot even though it's does not have a qualifying ads(meaning not advertised to have a $200 rebate)?

And not:
Is the rebate valid for purchase at Office Depot?

Good point sunfish.

I asked the csr to read it over and if there is any language which would prevent the rebate from being honored, tell me now or forever hold your peace. It was too expensive and that the reabte made it afordable for me, and that there are laser AIO's popping up here and there for under 100 bucks. He put me on hold and came back and said it's ok.

I do not think I'll call back, and will send it in with the documentation I have.

Same story here. I scored the last one in the West Knoxville store last night after confirming with HP that the rebate will fly. Too big a rebate to be unsure.

If they balk later we can only hope that the threat to turn it over to the state Attorney General will make them come around. Hope that it doesn't become necessary.

Skipping 42 Messages...

I recieved a letter from HP that they did not receive my S/N label. But, I am allowed to resubmit by just hand printing the S/N, since I do not have the label. Has anyone been in a similar situation, and what was the final outcome. Please advice. Thx.
