AlanS17 said:It's probably worth mentioning that you got a fixed-amount discount. So on more expensive vehicles, the percent difference would be less. The title says 40% off, but that's really only for a $26,500 vehicle. Might want to change the title to reflect that... I don't understand why I'm getting red. It's not a percent-off deal. It's a fixed-amount deal. Nobody is going to walk onto a car lot and buy a $50k car for $30k. Is it a good deal? Sure! Is it 40% off? Only in certain situations. |

wow, my car is in the shop after an accident this weekend. Won't find out what the repair costs will be or if my insurance will total it until at least Wednesday...doubt any will be left at that point! I'm only 80 miles up the road from Lexington here in Cincinnati. Local dealers are only offering about 6-7k off sticker from what they show on their websites. |

Don't be picky man. It's 10k off 26k roughly. AlanS17 said:AlanS17 said:It's probably worth mentioning that you got a fixed-amount discount. Nissan is currently sitting on almost 9 months of truck & SUV inventory and is desperately trying to clear dealer lots. |

As for whether all the trucks, SUVs and vans are 40% off at higher price points, I cannot verify, because i did not look at those. All one has to do, at least in Lex. , is call Glenn Nissan and ask if the higher priced models are the same % off. It's a great deal that I'm sure is either going on in other areas, or soon to happen, as Nissan wants to seemingly clear out the 08's rapidly in the current environment the car mfg and dealers find themselves in. BTW, I did not give you a neg.

/sorry, but it was obligatory. The Nissan Quest is manufactured in Nissan’s plant in Mississippi. You may consider the South foreign, but my guess is they don't. |

I gave green on this, but I went to consumer reports and the Quest has a black circle for predicted reliability. Japanese or not, that is worse than most domestics and way worse than Honda and Toyota vans, the two best. Also fuel economy is a half black circle. Great price, but looks like many of them have drivetrain and electrical system problems by three years old. |

I have heard of deals like this before, a friend of mine once bought a jaguar this way when they needed to clear the lot of ugly, unwanted cars and the manuf. agreed to pay out rebates. He got a 30K jag for like 14K brand new but one model year old. |

http://www.Edmunds.com/nissan/quest/2008/consumerreview.html The owners that filed reviews were way happier with the van than the editors of edumunds. Of course anyone can file an internet review even if they don't own the van, even if they sell the van. It's not like you have to show ID. Consumer reports reliability data comes from owners who also subscribe to consumer reports and bother to fill out their long and tedious survey. I'd trust that over someone who just fills out an internet form. |
