Great deal. Hope it lasts long enough until I can contact my relatives that are very interested.

For anyone with at personal experience: What does Frys.com free shipping include? Curbside, doorstep/porch, or inside the home?

TIA

For the crowd that cares, it's 720p. Nice price.

Green for you! Great deal and if it had a PC input I'd be getting one today.

Damn. Sold out already. Knew it. Should have just got it.

I just purchased one no more than 10 mins ago, that just makes me feel better about my purchase being able to pick one up before it sold out. Phew, and I kept thinking about it too. *sob* only wish this unit had pip feature, so sad.

Right - because picking up a cheap video card with HDMI out on it would be soooooooooo difficult to do

Also, it does do 1080i and as of this posting it is in stock.

Great find!

Out of stock, if added to cart.

HDMI = DVI + Extra's (sound).

You can pick up any video card offering DVI output and then get a DVI to HDMI converter or cable from Monoprice for about $5 shipped.

However, one thing to note about consumer Panasonic Plasma's -- They scale ALL inputs to 1080 and then scale back to 768 before displaying. Plus they overscan, meaning you lose about 2-4 pixels around all sides.

They are not meant to be used for direct PC display like for email/surfing due to this clipping of edges. (Plus the fact that displaying such material can cause permanent burn-in fairly quickly on a Plasma due to the high contrast/fixed image nature of it).

For video watching from a media center like PC, then they work awesome so long as you convert the DVI to HDMI.

The only thing you can't do without significant extra cost is connect via VGA. But why would you want to do that when a digital signal is clearer and cheap to convert from any video card's DVI port?

Yeah. It even let me add to cart this time...but when I entered billing info, disappeared.

Thanks anyway.

Did you consider the 50", for an extra 320 you get yourself 8 more inches =P But still pretty good price.

Yeah. Actually that is what I will eventually get for myself, but will buy from Sears.com, via price match, if necessary. Printed out the cart info already for the 50".

The 42 incher was to be for a relative that I know probably wants one. I'll keep trying though. It'll be back. If not today, probably in the not too distant future.

Not a very good deal on a 720p in my opinion.

Then you aren't very well informed about top tier plasmas. This isn't a Vizio or some store brand.

name a better one. these pannys are very well rated and offer tremendous value.

I thought Panasonic makes best Plasmas, even better than samsung..no question on this being a good deal but unfortunately I will not be buying this due to my money problems

how can i tell that it is out of stock? i added to cart..and it seems fine?

Now if only it was 1080p.

42" 720p and 1080p very negligible at normal viewing distances. 50" i can tell. plus buying tv for folks..they don't even have HD yet.

hardly any digital/HD TVs have a useful PIP feature. For those which have any sort of PIP at all, they're all of the "must be two analog/SD sources" variety. Not very useful in this modern day.

looks like my order went through..does it reject it afterwards?

It sure can!

fwiw I have this set and love it. Everthing I have found gave positive reviews.
