As of midnight 8/17, this deal is officially dead!
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

For those who bought their TV's at a higher price, you can try going back to BB and price-matching these prices (More Info):

Receipt Scan for 42" TV (thx noy81)
Store Location: 7550 N Blackstone Ave, Fresno, CA 93720 (Store 121)

Screenshot of 42" for $549.99 (thx mwalt2)
Screenshot of 50" for $809.99 (thx johnndrew24)

The price guarantee is YMMV, but many people have succeeded doing a PM to Sears.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

As of Midnight PST 8/13/08, the Panasonic 42" TV is back in stock!

Home Theater Installation is still OOS. If the installation come back in stock, add it to cart and after rebate, the TV comes out to be $689.99. (Installation also works with this offer)

1. Add TV
2. Add Sound Bar Setup (Or other eligible setups)
3. See new price at checkout ($839.98 + tax)
4. Call BB to override $70 delivery charge (if applicable)
5. Pick up TV, and then cancel Sound Bar Setup (YMMV) - this brings total down to $689.99.

PLUS: 20% coupon off installation for AAA members (in-store only) - brings total down to $809.98 + tax.

$150 rebate *might* work with the sound bar installation. Members called Panasonic and while most were told that it is not eligible, some were told that it is eligible. It doesn't hurt to try!

There is a free Phillips Speakers System with purchase of a qualifying TV. But currently, Panasonic TVs do not qualify (Details).

Panasonic 50" TV is $949.99 with setup.

Some people are buying a TV stand for $200, submitting the $200 Rebate (you only need the UPC code from the TV with the stand circled in the receipt), and returning the stand. This will further reduce the price of the TV by ~$200.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Home Theater Installation and TV was in-stock for a period of time this morning (~9-9:50AM PST 8/12/08). Add them both, and the total would have been $749.99 + tax - $200 rebate = ~$600.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

As of 8/12/08 2AM PST, you can still get the TV for $699.98 + tax (+ shipping) if you add the TV plus Geek Squad Sound Bar Setup. Call BB and cancel the installation, and you may still be able to get the TV for $549.99 + tax. (Complete Offer Details)

Below is the original post (8/10/08 - 1PM PST):
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1. Add this Panasonic 42" TV TH-42PX80U to cart. It will show $990 when added.

2. Add the Philips Home Theater System, which will be free with purchase of the TV. (Discontinued)

3. Add Geek Squad Installation for $200. This will bring the price of the TV to $690.

4. Submit the $200 Installation Rebate (if link does not work, get it here)

TV + Home Theater - $690
Installation - $200
Minus $200 rebate
----------------------------
TOTAL = $690 + tax

There might be a $70 Geek Squad delivery charge (YMMV). Some members are reporting not being charged the $70 delivery fee.

Choose in-store pickup to save on shipping.

You can try to combine with a 10% off mover's coupon. You can also try canceling the installation and getting the $200 refund (+ $70 delivery fee, if applicable). Sell the home theater system to make this deal even sweeter.

rebate link doesnt work but otherwise great deal

Yeah this would be great if the installation were FAR.

Speaker Setup

get the speaker setup for 150..instead of the 200$ setup, makes it sweeter

Yes, but then you would only get $150 back.

Yes but still a good deal after rebate. Sell the theater for $100-$150 or so and this is a damn good deal. You could try selling the setup too, though I'm not sure it's transferable.
mez

keeps trying to charge me $70 for "delivery" of the setup even though I have selected pickup for both the TV and the speakers. Anyone else having this problem?

Have people actually had success in canceling installation while retaining the discount?

Yes, it's for the Geek Squad installation delivery charge (YMMV). If you can somehow return the installation, they will waive the $70 fee.

3. IMPORTANT: This rebate offer is on Installation OR Furniture. This rebate cannot be divided to
claim both Installation AND Furniture.

Did anyone try the Home entertainment furniture instead of the installation?

Thanks!

But what furniture will bring the price of the TV down by 300 bucks?

Geek Squad - Standard Home Theater Setup SHTSCOM
$199.99
Delivery
Deliver to:
Delivery: $70.00

Note: You will schedule your delivery date in the next step.

Is anybody getting charged for geek squad set up? Is shows up as pick up not available for this item.

I used the "click to call" button and they were able to place the order without the delivery fee.

You are right, after trying a couple of different things, I found out only the Geek Squad install reduces the TV price by about $300.

I am about to pull the trigger. Is this a decent TV? How about the HT, is that any good to use instead of selling it?

Doesn't the setup of professional installation of $179 qualify for an additional $100 savings thanks to HD Advantage?

Or is that instore only?

NM. It's for tv's $999 and higher. This sale price is $989.

Use Discover card to save additional 5% by buying it through their online site....

Am I missing something, why would you only get $150 on the rebate when it gives $200? You can just select the $200 Geek Squad install...no?

If you look at your cart when you add all items and next to Geek Squad they state they are giving $300 rebate for certain Geek Squad services w/ purchase of a qualifying HDTV

I am about to pull the trigger. Is this a decent TV? How about the HT, is that any good to use instead of selling it?

Ordered mine just now. I had the $149 installation. There is no $70 for me. They are all ready for pick-up at different stores. I am in MN.

Gree OP!

I have picked up my TV. It is very nice.

I pulled the trigger on this. I had to call Best Buy to get the $70 delivery charge override.

I just pulled the trigger! I also clicked the call button like another poster stated at checkout to get the $70 waived. My total was $938.xx - $200 rebate $738.00 not bad.

Ok i added to cart and then i had a big problem ... wife said NO. Thanks for playing.

I bought this in April the last time Panny had an install rebate, TV was $999 on sale.
This is a great deal now, wish I would have waited.

How much is the extended warranty? I'm thinking about buying if the price is right

I think 4 year is 179 ... add to cart and then it will show you.

Looks like your wife already got a hot deal on a whip. Succa

TV no more available in my zipcode. Neither online nor store pick up!

I was thinking about getting this but I probably just get a similar unit from costco for $800 b/c:

1. I don’t need the home theater. Actually, I just gave my uncle a $500 Sony home theater that I got about 2 years ago.
2. Even if I pay $100 more, I don’t need to deal w/ the rebate and I get 90 days return + 2 years warranty w/ Costco.

I just don’t think I can make much $$ from selling the home theater on eBay after shipping, eBay fee, and paypal fee. It's still a decent deal for those w/o costco membership.

Or buy on a credit card that offers one for free.

Save 5% more if you use discover.

pdxor said: Save 5% more if you use discover.

not combinable with other offers, in fine print, both on panny rebate and discover parameters, one might lose the panny rebate, and services, i.e., the install are not to be included in the 5%

The Discover Cash Back is always on the back end like FW CashBack and is totally transparent to Best Buy's checkout system, doesn't show up anywhere on the invoice.

Can I get this deal in store?? Can I get the home theater free with another TV?

I need a 32" HDTV to fit in my Entertainment Center. I would like to get one 42" and one 32" and two home theater systems. Also would like to use the two years financing for purchases over $999. Any thoughts?

Sorry for a newb question but do I actually have to have geek squad come and install it? or no

could i walk into the store and set this deal up? or is it only available online?

Izpoof said: agoramilio said: could i walk into the store and set this deal up? or is it only available online?
