The rebate form from Brother only says it is not valid for purchases from Staples (they administer their own rebate program). Do you have a specific reason for saying a rebate from Office Max will not be valid?
From my past experiences, OfficeMax rebates often never come back for me (I have to hunt those rebates down 3 months later). Perhaps that is what NoMoneyInMyWallet is talking about.

Ordered a 2140 but got an 5240 instead, presumably an upgrade. But how can I get the $20 MIR in this case since my receipt says 2140 and UPC will be 5240?
