Probably because auto shops use industrial-strength tools? There is a reason this doesn't cost $200.

if its backed by Sears/craftsman lifetime warranty I dont see why not to buy this versus a 200+ impact wrench

As far as I know, that lifetime warranty is only good for hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc). Good luck getting them to warranty anything else.
