(Signature required.) No packaging around the flimsy product box, which seems odd, but everything was fine. 2GB Ram arrived same day ($19 plus shipping after rebate if bought from Fry's by 10/7). Installation was a snap. With built-in 512MB, now a total of 2.5GB installed with 2GB recognized after reboot (just as expected). Love it so far. Was concerned about speed and about WiFi antenna sensitivity. Both are fine. Feels solid and sturdy, not cheap and plastic-y. The red is a deep ruby-red, not a tacky ding-ding-red, very nice looking IMO. Power brick requires 3-prong outlet, which my sofa-side extension cord isn't. (An easy fix.) Required the usual marathon to install other browsers, FF-extensions, spysweeper, zone, roboform, the 19 XP-updates, etc. Only issue so far is that the "Power schemes" seem to be non-customizable (grayed out). I want to set it so it never turns off when on AC power, but it won't let me. So, while I want to just let it run so that Google Desktop can do the long initial-indexing, it shuts down if I forget to touch the pad every 20 minutes. If anybody knows a workaround for this, I'd appreciate hearing it. |

I ordered on the first day, Aug 19th. Cancelled on Sep 18th. Cancellation confirmation received on Sep 19th. Get shipment confirmation this morning. Get home from work and the printers are lying outside my house! This has been one frustration after another. I think I am going to call AMEX about this soon. |

This has been one frustration after another. I think I am going to call AMEX about this soon. So does mean... you get it for free? Did laptop come? Has your credit card been charged yet? |

If anybody knows a workaround for this, I'd appreciate hearing it. About the power settings: they are fully adjustable. Must use Lenovo Energy Management tool, not the standard XP power settings. The Lenovo tool has a handful of prefab settings (Balanced, Performance, etc.) While looking at the icons for those prefab choices, the visible menu tabs allow some fine tuning but do not permit adjusting the system settings. However, if you double-click on the icon for any of those prefab settings, you then get menu tabs for "system" and "monitor". I didn't find them at first because I was just looking at the visible menu tabs. Silly me, I didn't double-click on the icons for Lenovo's prefab power options to see the additional hidden menu tabs. Now that I've found them, I can indeed adjust things the way I want them. |

"..now a total of 2.5GB installed with 2GB recognized after reboot (just as expected)." Does it mean it's utilizing all 2.5GB RAM? (despite of only displayed / recognized 2GB) |
