I almost cried, but then realized that it was a non IS lens, and the newer IS lens is MUCH better--not only because of the benefits of IS but the lens is just better (less chromatic abberation, fringing, etc. at edges). Reviews will all confirm this.
I got the Xsi for ~$630 with the IS lens from JR.com--go through live.com for the CashBack.

Well someone who intends to immediately upgrade the lens may not want a better-than-average kit lens. In that situation a bottom-of-the-barrel lens may be just what they're looking for.
can anyone still find the camera on Dell's website? I'm not even able to see it, much less buy it.

Confirmed dead. Appears to be price mistake - XSI has been completely removed from home, small business, etc, sites.
I wanted to use this coupon with the 40Dkit (get it for ~$960), but coupon is dead too.

I had it my cart, but decided to do it after lunch....ARRRGGGHHH!!! Determined. I found somebody on CL selling a brand new (unopened) xsi for 650. About the same price (after factoring tax on 594).
