J&R Link for SpecsNetbook will be $349 at Best Buy B&M on Sunday. $100 internet signup WILL work for these making them $249 OTD. Limit 1 per household.
Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz / 1GB RAM / 120GB Hard Drive / Intel GMA 950 Graphics / Webcam / 802.11G Wireless / 2.19lbs / Windows XP Home
I would highly recommend signing up TODAY to avoid the offer expiring. Check contract terms, Comcast and Cox service can be canceled at any time without penalty. Barcodes are not unique and BB employee may void and keep your printout after purchase.
Quick edit:
Return/Rebuy will VOID your $100 discount unless you have a new coupon to scan. I don't see a reason to RR, all my local BB still have plenty of the $450 Inspiron and $550 Gateway from last week and its Thursday...welcome to the depression.
The laptop is good, but I won't recommend the BB, and the internet signup... is a rip off. Worrying "order and cancel" the comcast will mess up existing account... I will say pass.
Just FYI, signing up comcast internet thru BB it's like $59.95/month, WTF. If you sign up thru comcast the full price with no discount would only be ~$42.99/month, and if you are smart you can get $19.99/month (for 6months) with $100 rebate almost everywhere.

So "there is no deal at BestBuy" is still true.
A great post for all of those who miss the part about Comcast and Cox being NON-CONTRACT THAT CAN BE CANCELED AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING BEFORE INSTALLATION.

Do you mean Return the purchased item and Rebuy? or Return the Internet Service and Rebuy?? or Return to the store and Rebuy???
I really want to get this item, but I have already canceled Internet Service. If I keep re-sign up, I'm afraid I might get a penalty or something. I still have the confirmation for the canceled one. Can I still use it??

Can someone help me understand the terms and conditions better please? The broadband search link via Best Buy states: - items (I'm reading this as laptop and internet service) must be purchased on same receipt - activation of internet service required
What is this printout that people are talking about? It seems that one must sign up for service in-store at the time of laptop purchase...

Follow the internet signup link in the OP. No activation required. BARCODES FOR PRINTED COUPONS ARE NOT UNIQUE.
I specifically went looking for the AA1 in the Dublin, CA B&M last week - wasn't available then. May need to go check again.

Thanks for the response. Perhaps this is regional and my (San Francisco) locale offer/promotion is different than what you are seeing?
Here are the terms and conditions for mine. I see no mention of a printout with a barcode, and I don't know if I can assume that this will happen after I click on "place order" for the comcast internet.
--- Save $100 instantly with any Laptop purchase
Offer Valid:08/03/2008 - 09/27/2008 Save $100 on any Laptop when you sign up for Comcast High Speed Internet Service at Best Buy
High Speed Internet service activation required for savings. Items must be purchased on same receipt ---
So by the terms and conditions it looks like I have to sign up in-store and purchase the laptop at the same time since there is no mention here that I sign up and bring in a printout to get the discount...

Id say S10 is worth the difference. Ive compared Asus EEE 901(8.9" screen) and Asus 1000h(10" screen) and for my 10" and a keyboard that formfactor would support were the bare usable minimum
BTW, EEE 901 is a lot smaller than A1 even both have the 8.9" screen. And S10 and A1 is about the same size. vladgur said: this laptop has a a smaller screen and a smaller keyboard. Alright. I see. I own Asus 1000h for which I paid $300 more, but it has a 1.1" bigger screen, bluetooth(important for me to tether via my SERO phone) and 5.5 hour battery life. If i had a guarantee that I could add 6-cell battery to this acer in the future, Id probably go with Acer
Seriously. Did you read the title or the OP? Do we have to tattoo it on your forehead?

Ok, this seems like a great deal but I am lost with this internet sign up thing. I click on the link and get nothing about $100 off with internet sign-up. The only offers I see are for BB gift cards by mail with sing-up. What am I missing?

So what comes up when you click that link? I get something about Quest, no $100 offers.
Even the price of 349 on this model is good but at 249 it's a steal.
Just got back from running an errand close to BB in Dublin, CA, so I stepped in to take a look. There were 5 AA1's in BLUE (all with XP), and they had a demo in the cage (it wasn't ready yet). A CSR kindly allowed me to play on it for a while. XP runs amazingly well on the Atom with 1GB RAM. The trackpad was better than I expected. Aside from the 5 BLUE AA1's, the CSR said they were getting the same exact models in WHITE very soon.

Is it just me or is the ad scan link broken? Its just you
