Once you click the place order button on the internet sign up page what happens? Do you get the barcode on the next screen?

Are all bar codes the same? Anyone willing to send me bar code scan? Please pm.

Thanks. Cox is not even in my state. Wonder if it would work.

No Cox in my area and it worked. I didn't even have to fill in any information where that file is blank. Whether or not you can still convince them to scan it I don't know.

Good Hunting!

Where do you store the power cord/brick and maybe a mouse?

In the front pocket.

I paid $9.99 at my local RS as well.

I'm the OP and they are on clearance in the north Florida area stores. Maybe the clearance price is a regional thing.

The RS case is barely larger than the sleeve that comes with the netbook.

You're correct. I purchased it because it offers more protection when carrying the A1 around.

JesseLivermore said:madalien said:They will fit very tightly into the front open pocket, though unsecured. Not the best, but for fit on the Acer itself, this seems best so far that I have found. The original poster of the Icon find said he had been all over the place trying to find something better and could not. At least at this price point. I search further for the "perfect" case.

Good Hunting!

Thanks to everyone, including jagfan2, who let us know about the RS case.

Picked it up tonight for $9.99 and it is perfect for the AA1. Barely big enough for the brick and power cord, but it works.

This case is in keeping with the philosophy of the AA1 - portability. It adds very little bulk.

As for operating temps, my AA1 has been running at an average processing temp of about 52-58 degrees, but the ambient temperature in the room is important.

I have been using the fan hack available at the AA1 forums, and it's worked without a flaw. I set my fan to kick on at 60 degrees and it rarely comes on.

What program are you using to get the op temps?

OK - thanks. I've been monitoring the posts about that one. I've seen some freeware programs out there but wasn't sure if they were any good.

The one robby linked is the one I'm using. Zero problems whatsoever so far.

Does this have the 3 or 6 cell battery? How is the overall battery life and video playback? If I get this I'd like to be able to use it on my flights besides the note-taking web-browsing functionality.

your a senior member but that doesnt excuse you from reading the 64 pages of the thread..... clearly its been stated numerous times 3-cell, 2-2.5hrs. video playback is fine.

if anyone wants help installing memory or upgrading the hard drive on your acer one and you're in the SF bay area, I'll do it for free (or treat me to a Starbucks or something if you feel like it), but you'll have to meet up in San Francisco. I've got 1GB memory if you don't have your own (not free)... It takes about 10-15 minutes to do the upgrade, but if you upgrade the hard drive, you may want to put the new image on the new hard drive first...

FYI, I got this deal with signing up with AT&T's Yahoo DSL (1 year contract) which I was already under a contract. So my contract went from 9 months left to back to 12 months (according to my account on att.com). Even though it wasnt supposed to work that way, it did.

You guys are scam artists and crooks. Two employees I work with have been fired for ringing up this coupon without calling in Cox. The guys who came in distracted her, changed the conversation, said just scan it. Well she did and the manager called her in and fired her. She just got hired a month ago and doesn't know how these scams work. I don't know how you people sleep at night ripping off companies just to save a few bucks.

I don't know how you sleep at night working for a company that charges $43 for a 3' HDMI cable. You should be ashamed of yourself and quit immediately.

Red for political avatar, freakazoid. Let's keep fw about the deal, not who you're supporting for prez.
