I signed up for the net and I'm wondering... should i wait until monday to cancel? I'm thinking yes, but I really dont want to get hammer with install fees or whatever.. I was just in bestbuy today and while I plan on getting a much better laptop, this unit may just suit my needs for right now... and if so... I'll have just saved myself like $1250 lol. was planning on getting an x61s or x200 w/ accident warranty. I know this laptop doesnt even compare, but I was debating what to get in the first place as this is only for taking notes in class. so It should be perfect.. if not... e.ba.y Oh and AD scan is flickr and not broken for me. |

I'm afraid signing up today, they might come before sunday before i can cancel. comcast and verizon are both available for me. which one is easier to cancel? |

For $300, you can buy another A1 if you have a different address for the Internet sign up. As for BT, you can get a Mini-BT USB adapter for less than $10. I am not saying A1 is better than 1000h. But for $250, it's just like the price for a PDA. I surly will get the A1 this weekend. vladgur said: Alright. I see. I own Asus 1000h for which I paid $300 more, but it has a 1.1" bigger screen, bluetooth(important for me to tether via my SERO phone) and 5.5 hour battery life. If i had a guarantee that I could add 6-cell battery to this acer in the future, Id probably go with Acer |

Comcast and AT&T were very easy. All done in one phone call and about 2~3 minutes. I was hoping one of them would offer me a better deal, so I can get a cheap Internet. Neither one offered me any I said "I want to cancel". They said "you're all set.bye." How do you guys make them to offer a better deal?? Some people say they won't let you cancel unless you heard 2 or more offers, but why not me??? Please bother me with your offers Comcast and AT&T! |

I feel like an idiot, too, for wondering if you can cancel BEFORE you buy. In a diligent attempt to deduce the proper answer, my best guess is - yes? TIA. Hot deal, OP. Hotness. |

It seems as if you have to order the internet in store as the terms state "items must appear on the same receipt". I assume items refers to the laptop and internet service. What do you think? |

Regarding the $100 internet signup, I already have service at my home. What I did was used maps.google.com to search for a commercial office address that I knew was in a coverage area of a provider (in my case, Comcast). Judging by the map, the address looked to be in an industrial park. I entered my name and cell number when prompted. The only Comcast option that I saw was titled "Unconfirmed Plan - Service is subject to availability" and that plan had the $100 rebate. I hit confirm or whatever and the next page loaded up with my two page printout that included a UPC and said "Save $100 instantly with any laptop purchase." There was a bunch of other garbage on there about rebate forms and submission but IMHO that is boilerplate stuff for other types of offers. See you Sunday morning, BB. |

But this should probably NOT be your only computer or you'll be disappointed. If you want to photoshop, burn a DVD, watch tv, or play a modern game, it's pretty much useless. But...as a second computer, this is perfect for surfing the web via Wifi, and maybe some light productivity on the go. I am going to play with it before I buy it. Hopefully the keyboard will be a lot better than the EEE 900 that I tried and didn't like. |

That's the other question I had that I forgot - did you enter your actual name (in case you're paying with cash)? |

I am offered Comcast here in the SF bay area with $100 off a laptop. So should I sign up, print the coupon, bring it to BB on Sunday and show the coupon that day? |

Item means the bar code you get after signing up. Like some people said, the bar code is same for everyone. So there is no where of verifying authenticity. Even though they have no idea about this deal, some cashiers (usually managers) will try to track you down. I guess it's yes you can cancel it but it depends on the cashier. I haven't done it that way, though... |

How can they enforce the "one per household" rule if all bar codes are the same? I doubt BB will type your address in the register. |

If all the barcodes are the same, what's to prevent people from sharing the barcode? |

If the barcode is the same, maybe someone can post a PDF of the coupon for everyone to use? I tried, but nothing available in my area... |

Unless it has changed recently the Best Buy POS system asks the cashier to enter the phone number used during the Internat signup offer when the barcode from the broadband confirmation is scanned. It then retrieves your broadband order and it appears as a line item on your Best Buy receipt. If it can't find your order no discount is given. |
