Vanilla10 said:Signing up for HSI on bestbuy.com was a waste of time for me. Manager said district required sign up in store only. They just signed me up again in store. Of course, mine was a legitimate sign up. OP, please put YMMV in title, or change price to $349. Nope. Not editing the post because of one reply when the deal hasn't even gone live yet. The coupon currently works for the Inspiron and Gateway deals from last Sunday. Anyone who has a doubt can use it to test. $350 Inspiron and a $450 Gateway laptop. |

CptSavAHo said: Sorry but your information is wrong. I've bought 14 laptops since Sunday using coupons for every purchase. Not a single confirmation of any kind. The coupon I used yesterday and today don't even have my name and address on them. When sales noticed it I just explained it was my roommate-to-be and they went right along with the sale.
I repeat for the dense-in-the-head crowd that's frequenting this thread:
BEST BUY DOES NOT CONFIRM THE COUPON CODES WHEN THEY ARE ISSUED THROUGH THE WEBSITE OR WHEN YOU USE IT TO CHECK OUT IN THE STORE. THE BARCODE IS THE SAME REGARDLESS OF INFORMATION YOU ENTER OR THE SERVICE YOU SELECT. THE STATE YOU LIVE IN YOUR FAVORITE FLAVOR OF ICE CREAM AND THE NUMBER OF ZITS ON YOUR FACE WILL NOT EFFECT YOUR ABILITY TO USE THE PRINTED COUPON. GEEZ Man! Drop it. He/she says it was different in his/her area! One of the store I went to made me sign up again because the confirmation didn't show the date. And the other one didn't even look at it and scan the bar code. So it could vary from store to store. There is no need to say you're right or wrong! gosh! |

I never stated the verify credit and EVERYONE knows by now knows the barcode on the confirmation is ONLY the coupon code. However that has no relevance to what Iposted since the barcode only triggers the process to get you phone number. They DO ask for you phone number and verify you have an order for THAT phone number. The name or other garbage on he confirmation has no meaning. At leaset in my area (AZ) and I am sure most others that is how it works. The system prompts the cashier for your phone number and it verifies if you have a Internet broadband order in their system. It doees NOT verify the status of the order just that you have an order. (Perphaps you used a RZ card which automatically brings up your phone number? I don't know, but I DO know the process because I watched at LEAST a dozen customers who signed up these broadband offers trying to and apply it to the two sub $500 laptops laptop offers this past Sunday go through this process while waiting to do at return at the CS desk. Most had to wait a few minutes for the system to update because the BB POS cound not find their broadband order when it was just created at the in-store kiosk. The $100 discount would not apply without a phone number to order verification.

Ho, no one is questioning your ability to do the deal. What I'm trying to convey is certain stores and certain managers remember the fiasco from 6 months ago when the same deal (and same barcode) were being used fraudulently, and they now know how to shake out the offenders. |

AND... I'm an idiot. I misread the receipt. That's a good sign.... It'd be nice if there was a PDF for some of us who can't get Comcast in our area? |

Why, only good for your region? Because the address is listed? |

Should I be creative with the phone number as well? The problem is I don't want someone else getting stuck with a Comcast truck at their door or a Comcast guy calling their phone... |

what that means is it is giving you a choice of promotions. but, you can only pick one, and if you are going to cancel, of course you would pick the hundred bucks. |

Not sure if BB verifies that you signed up the high speed internet. They sure can track it if they want since they have order# on the printout: Best Buy Order Number is 18XXXX Comcast Confirmation # - Internet - 31XXXXXXX
Under order detail, it shows the Comcast Confirmation# again: Provider Confirmation #31XXXXXXX While the barcode# is the same for everyone, they can just type in the Best Buy Order# when the barcode is scanned to check if this BB order# is used for $100 off. |

It doesn't say you can only pick one. Mine did. I had a choice from time warner of picking the lower monthly deal or taking the 100 buck Q. Perhaps different company's all have different kinds of offers. |

Will branches that don't currently carry the A1 have it next week, or should I be looking to find one that already has it as part of their inventory? |
