OfficeMax has the Brother HL-2140 for $59.99 in the 8/24 weekly flyer.

They are offering a $30 gas card to MaxPerks members (see page 6). Note that gas card is only valid at one specific retailer in your area (I've seen ads with ARCO and BP, there may be other retailers). ** Limit 1 gas card per member.

Less $20 Brother MIR

Final price = $10

Note that there are other Brother printers listed in the ad, but this and the MFC-240C seem to be the hot deals.

Example: $110 - $30 gas card = $80 for HL-2170W (Wireless network enabled B&W laser)

Does anyone know if OM purchases usually work for manufacturer rebates? Esp since OM now usually does not support the rebates?

This is based on location. I pulled up Dallas, TX flyer and it's showing $30 Maxperks reward and not gas card whereas CA flyers shows $30 gas card.

Question arises --- will ARCO gas card work at BP stations? BP owns ARCO. There are no ARCO stations in my locale -- SE Michigan -- but we do have plenty of BP stations.

An extra 20% back for using Paypal..?

So this deal also works online? Too bad I don't have an OM BM within 30 miles.

I don't see anything about $30 gas card or otherwise in the NJ stores....

Printer Specs

Anyone know how much toner goes for? Can it be refilled? Tempted to jump on this.

In MA they are offering $30 credit to max perks account instead of a gas card.

This is actually a nice printer for its price. There are 2 toners available for this printer: BrotherTN-330 which prints up to 1,500 pages and about $45 at Staplez; and BrotherTN-360 which can print up to 2,600 pages and about $65 at Staplez. Not sure if it can be refilled.

I think instead of me getting a new toner, I might just buy another HL-2140 at this price.

If you grab this printer, do you get a FULL thing of toner, or a "starter" thingee??

Starter, but it can be refilled if you buy an add-on reset gear.

Less than $10 for a bottle of toner and all you do is pop/pry the cap off and fill it.

Thanks OP! I have order HL-2140 and order gone through. It can not be resist for $10.

More fuel to the fire

1. Get 6% back going through ebates.com
2. 25% back from Paypal works (notice is not on first page, but the page
that said "Review your information")
3. There is an item added to your card automatically for FREE
"Free Bonus - Special offer on your next online order" It is linked
under the Label Maker & Photo ID System ($0 to $13.99) I have no clue
what this mean; but it's free

Just ordered one with mslive CashBack (6-10%) and PayPal 25% CashBack. Nice deal - thanks OP!

I realize the in-store ad mentions the gas card, but I don't see anything about it if you buy online.

It's right on the front page.

I see it now, thanks.

BP gas card in Atlanta

cant sign up for perks getting errors

we supposed to get thru' a specific link on their site to get the gas card later?

If you read the gas card offer, it clearly states you will get it in your next MaxPerks statement.

already got burned on one rebate attempt with OfficeMax that was a manufacturer. Not saying it wont fly, it wasnt brother, but you might want to add YMMV.

What a deal, but if I add to my printer collection in the garage, I'll be shot. Too many good deals on printers lately.....

this is an older version of the brother rebate. the later version had officemax, Staples, bestbuy excluded. not sure if they'll honor this version

No, they won't

Good deal but check the BP and Arco station finders before you dive in. For me it was no go with either, no stations nearby.

"No, they won't"

care to explain? I mean did you submit it and get rejected before? or just a guess

It is just that the general idea is that manufacturer rebates are not supposed to work at OM, since OM prices usually include instant rebates.

I would think that it is a YMMV.

Thanks OP, I'm in for one even though I don't need another printer. This is too cheap to pass up.

I can't seem to apply online for a MaxPerks membership.

I got the same error. Maybe because my business is a sole proprietorship?

Skipping 200 Messages...

OM is idiot. Just go to www.bbb.org and and put OM in search and it should come up OM's headquarter address in Illinois.

sardarji said: Does anyone has a link to BBB?

I just got an email from OMAX and they claim that I never used maxperks ID and hence I am not qualified. Sucks big time.
