Seagate FreeAgent Pro 320GB FireWire/USB/eSATA $47.99 Shipped from seagate store

link

good deal but kinda smallish by today's standards.

just wait till the 750gb goes on sale for $120 + free s/h again.

good price if it were 2.5'

green for a T or Green Tea

Good price for a Firewire-compatible drive, not everyone needs 500+GB of storage on a single drive so these smaller drives are good in a sense.
Also, found external 250GB FreeAgent Desktop for 37.99 on the site as well.

Yes, but for those who don't need something that extravagent, this 320GB external is a nice choice at this price. I bought this drive about 5 months ago and have been happy with it.

Thanks for the find. It was good timing as my 160Gig External Drive just crashed tonight. I figure this is a Sata Driver on the inside and as the price of 1T drives come down, I can upgrade it, if needed.

Thanks OP - in for one!

wow!! nice deal.

How hard to open?

Needed something not too big so I pulled the trigger on one.

Firstly, good find and good post. Good grief how I do hate the fear induced by obnoxious wanna-be moderators who flame people for not crossing their t's and dotting their i's. Thank you OP not just for sharing your find, but also for overcoming the trepidation inspired by some of the red-flaggers on this site. Green from me and I hope many more.

Thanks OP, ordered one!

Anyone know if you can crack these open and use the drive inside as an internal drive?

You can for sure, but it voids the warranty.

I don't understand some people. I am running a 4 year old PC with SATA RAID 1 and a pair of 120GB drives. I just checked... I have 72GB of drive space used.

Not everybody needs a terabyte of storage space!

Must be a lot of people ordering. Site was very slow.

Lies.

Thanks OP.
always good to have more storage....

great find

crap. looks out of stock. i was going to get one too. that was a real good price for an external e-sata/firewire drive

Sick deal. Thanks OP!

Wow that was quick. Got confirmation only 30 mins ago at 10:55 PM EST.

wow, this is a better price than I paid in last Thanksgiving.

Is this a 3.5"? Can I take out the hard drive and install it as an internal hard drive? If so, do I need any other software to make it work? Also, what is the difference between the Pro and the Desktop version?

Doesn't give me an option to buy it, please help

see 5 posts above yours where i say its out of stock

I can't seem to get it anymore.

do you understand the concept of what "out of stock" means?

250GB for 37.99 Desktop, not Pro tho.

I KNEW not to put the kids to sleep first. My Mac would have loved this deal. Cheers to ones who got through.

I'll hold my cheers until they ship ...

Yep.

I bought 160GB internal SATA drive late Fri afternoon and it was shipped Fri from Ft Worth TX. So Seagate is pretty fast if they have in stock.

I got confirmation at 10:55 PM EST but won't know till get "Ship Notification for Shipper Number XXXXXXX" Mon morning.

pro has firewire

warrantee is gone if you open it obviously.
its a regular drive

I suppose you can just settle for the 250gb then, for $37.99, now that the 320 is out of stock.

Anyone know about the quality of the case, or chipset on the 320gb pro version?

I truly hope that the CEO of Seagate responds to your email and says:

"There aren't any left."

And my response to him/her would be a simple "then get me something similar at the same price point, or something at the same cost per GB. SURELY they have SOME drives left!
