Other Seagate.com deals:
Dead:
Barracuda 160GB (SATA & Ultra ATA) - $34.99 & $8 shipping
3.5" PATA/Ultra ATA/IDE HDD 320GB- $35.99 & $8 shipping
FreeAgent Go Portable 80GB - $19.99 shipped (120GB for $28.99)
FreeAgent Desktop 250GB - $37.99 shipped (320GB for $47.99)
good deal but kinda smallish by today's standards.
just wait till the 750gb goes on sale for $120 + free s/h again.
Good price for a Firewire-compatible drive, not everyone needs 500+GB of storage on a single drive so these smaller drives are good in a sense.
Also, found external 250GB FreeAgent Desktop for 37.99 on the site as well.

Yes, but for those who don't need something that extravagent, this 320GB external is a nice choice at this price. I bought this drive about 5 months ago and have been happy with it.
Thanks for the find. It was good timing as my 160Gig External Drive just crashed tonight. I figure this is a Sata Driver on the inside and as the price of 1T drives come down, I can upgrade it, if needed.
Needed something not too big so I pulled the trigger on one.
Firstly, good find and good post. Good grief how I do hate the fear induced by obnoxious wanna-be moderators who flame people for not crossing their t's and dotting their i's. Thank you OP not just for sharing your find, but also for overcoming the trepidation inspired by some of the red-flaggers on this site. Green from me and I hope many more.
Anyone know if you can crack these open and use the drive inside as an internal drive?

You can for sure, but it voids the warranty.

I don't understand some people. I am running a 4 year old PC with SATA RAID 1 and a pair of 120GB drives. I just checked... I have 72GB of drive space used.
Not everybody needs a terabyte of storage space!
Must be a lot of people ordering. Site was very slow.
