VERY GOOD deal on a 250GB External Hard Drive!

Great price. 250GB is more than enough... for now

Even hotter is the 80gb 2.5" Go drive for $19.99 or the 120gb 2.5" GO drive for $28.99! I ordered 2 of the 120gb drives. These are great portable drive that require no power (USB Powered) and are 2.5" drives!

How is seagate in regards to fulfilling orders?

I wanna know that too, this is the first time I buy from them.

They delivered 2 weeks ago when I ordered a 160gb internal drive for $34.99. I have ordered a couple other times with no issues.

smoking hot deal, must say no

In for 1. Great deal!

Yeah, great deal on the smaller capacity Go drives. I was considering getting a WD, but can't pass up the price on the 120. Don't need the big capacity anyway. Thanks for the heads-up on the drives.

Got one 120 GB- cheapest I have ever seen till date.

Is this a 3.5"? Can I take out the hard drive and install it as an internal hard drive? If so, do I need any other software to make it work? Also, what is the difference between the Pro and the Desktop version? I just wanted a cheap one to replace my current internal hard drive.

FYI-they are redesigning the drives (no more orange!~) so that's probably why they are clearing them out.

Excellent timing OP - I really needed an external and the 250GB is enough. 5 year warranty, too.
In for 1.

Oh Yeah....In for 2!

As long as there is space, I dont care about the color...let it be a pink one...nice price OP

Doesn't work anymore.

Just checked again...works..not an issue

Thanks ICEUI2!
Got a 250 for $39.98 shipped.

Thanks, OP. N41 120G.

Thanks! Got a 250GB and 120GB.

In for 1 250 GB. Thanks OP

320 doesn't bring up the option to buy. Anyone else getting it?

I ask a stupid question, can a "Desktop External Hard Drive" work for laptop? what is difference between "Portable Hard Drive" and those "external hard drive"? Thanks.

in for a 120... pretty slick... looks like it's USB powered!

looks like the 320's are gone!

thanks OP!

Gives me a little faith that maybe they have a functioning inventory system.

Thanks! In for a 120Go.

There is no difference. "Portable Hard Drive" == "External hard drive"
"External hard drive" is the usual term

And, yes, they will work with both desktops and laptops, although if yoy were planning to carry it with you, you'd probably want one of the 80GB or 120GB 2.5" mini-externals (see other threads here, search for Seagates.)

And now a question: once you open the case and look at the drive itself, does anybody know if these are IDE/PATA or SATA drives?

If you are using Firefox with NoScript, remember to allow Seagate.com to use scripts.

I am getting the 'Credit card not valid' error all the time..so I am going to let this deal pass!
i am not selecting the option to register..prolly that could be the reason for the error?!

Thanks OP, in for one.

I think manufacturers use "portable hard drives" to refer to external drives based on 2.5" notebook form factor because they are USB-powered, hence portable. "Desktop external" ones are based on larger 3.5" desktop drives and are normally powered by AC adapters, not quite portable.

From various reviews on the net, the drives seem to be the SATA variety. Since Seagate is the drive manufacturer, I don't think it makes economic sense for Seagate to use PATA drives inside. Just my guess though.

gone again?

not working for me!!!

would have been nice

250 is gone as well
