Is this new or a refurb?

Also, consider the Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD HDTV for $849.99 shipped

I bought one of those 42" from the Philips F&F deal for $520 a few months ago. It came DOA and after a bit of back and forth, Philips exchanged it for this unit. Awesome set, one of the few that does 1:1 pixel mapping for those who are interested. For those who don't know what it is, it basically means hooking a PC to it will give you 1920x1080 resolution with no overscan. Most 1080P LCD's out there now (especially at this price range) will only allow PC resolution up to 1366x768.

If I had to complain about it, I would point to:

- the lack of VGA (15pin). This is not that big of a deal since I use DVI-HDMI adapter
- no PiP. I got used to not having it
- The TV is not very responsive during first power-up for about 1 minute. But I am noticing this with other 1080P screens too, so maybe long bootup times are the norm now. Who knows...

Buyer Beware - May have warranty/quality issues down the road:
