I'm in for one @ $70 with free shipping. Still a good deal, I bought mine last year for $150. This one will be a Christmas gift. I love mine mainly because it's the size of a cell phone and I can keep it in my purse and use it when I want. |

ktg said:myquealer said:What is the advantage of these video cameras over most digital cameras on the market? Most cameras can do 640x480 video, some can even do optical zooming while recording (which Flip cameras cannot). Plus of course digital cameras can take still shots much better than this, nearly everyone has a digial camera already, and you don't need to carry an extra gadget with you to do stills and video.
This is a one-trick pony that is aimed at people who want to do one thing: make and share short video clips (think: the YouTube crowd). Digital cameras are certainly more versatile and real video cams take much better footage, but this device is small, produces video that doesn't have to be painfully resized for YouTube, and makes it easy to get it from the camera into the computer. I was tempted by these, but it would be a lot more attractive if it had a sd/flash/whatever port for extra storage. I mean, integrated 1gb at this day in age with no way to add more? I think I'll wait for the 2nd gen. |

thanks! according to some reviewers, they got more recording time than 30 minutes; some got nearly double that, depending on how much movement is in the video |

This is a hot deal! Plus get 4% FatCash and maybe get a 10% off coupon! The one on Amazon is a different model, has 2GB onboard memory, and is only $40 more. This one only has 1GB. Not a TC, just an FYI. |

dude it has a sole purpose in life. reach in purse while pressing the big azz button and take low res pics of the kid/pet/stripper(!wish!) you could spend $200 on a used Sony DCR-DVD4xx or win one on my wishlist like i did and it will smoke anything in this realm for quality (thanks to carl zeiss). nothing good comes from cheap glass.. you know put them t...... on the glass |

got it works good. only wierd thing is if you delete the .avi files it can desync the time left. program installed 3ivx codec but i have divx pro already. i'd say its good. real good for the price. no image stabilization was very apparent and it was easy to smudge the lens. very cool. only thing i like about my Sony dcr-dvd403 (wishlist!) is the fact it records one file with chapter markers and not 20 files for 20 stop/starts. It's easy to cut-edit in tmpgenc but takes more time to re-assemble many video's imo. the bitrate is still a little high not like we can afford to put 960meg of video online for 30 minutes anywhere so you'll have to transcode this again to share with others. very impressed i was expecting chinese knockoff junk. I will definitely consider a mino or another one of these i hope they can do an on the fly lens cap or some sort of protector because if you throw it in your (wife's purse) it could scratch and the lens does easily smudge from handling. did some really strange isht to my outlook express during install. will have to do a thorough scan for resident's and spyware lol. |
