I've found the best way, is to make a playlist first, then burn using the playlist ... it should keep the required order ... that or rename the files so that they are 8 characters, with sequential numbers (I've used MagicFileRenamer to do this) ... Do Not Install The Version on the CD. Go to nero.com download the latest update for Nero 8 Install it & enter your SERIAL # when prompted. You will have the full version of the latest build. |

imgburn works good, is easy to use, burns ISO files to disc, is free, and can be found here: http://www.imgburn.com/ And it burns more than just ISO. I have a full version of Nero and I use Imgburn most of the time. I really like the feature in Imgburn that allows me to set the default burn speeds based on media code and burner model. I always burn at 4X except for DVD9. Nero complains sometimes that there is something wrong with the files output from DVDFab and other programs used for backing up movies. |

whats the difference between Nero essentials and Ultra? I have never understood....can it burn DVDs in all source formats?
If all you need is a DVD burner program, Essentials is fine.
If you want a lot of newer multimedia features, including full Blu-ray playback support, you want Ultra.
Here's a link to the comparison chart:
Link to comparison chart
P.S. - Click on the "Comparison Chart" tab on that page. May have to scroll down a bit to see it. The full retail versions of Nero have always has included Nero Burning ROM and cheaper versions including OEM versions have never included Nero Burning ROM. I did not see Nero Burning ROM in the comparison chart for any version. Is Nero Burning ROM a big deal? Well, it is the only Nero program I use regularly. It is the only one that has all the available burning options.

If your player uses ID3 tags instead of file names, changing the file names won't help. You'll either need to change the ID3 tags or use a playlist. albrandwood said:iSeeInPics said:I just looking for something cheap I can use to burn audio books onto my MP3. Based on what I have read starting with Nero 7 they added a ton of bloat to the product without any major upgrade in functionality. I would suggest that unless you are buring to Blu Ray then just stick with what you have now. Just remember, bloat is good. You get more code for the money. |

While filling out the rebate, just noticed the processor is status-now.com. I'd say they are OK, but not as dependable as rebatestatus.com. |

Everyone can complain about bloat, but they did add functionality in 7 - it just may not apply to you. People have mentioned most thing, but I find the DLNA functionality far better than any of the "free" apps that I have found - including the POS that MS calls WMP11. While WMP11 works, its codec handler is crap. I have never had an issue with Nero converting and streaming files to my PS3. As a burner, sure - there are plenty of free ones that can do the job. While I cannot make the comment on 8 per se (may get it though), FAR or $20 AR does not seem like a bad price IF you need any of the additional features. To each his own....but just a person only has a single use for a program does not mean others might not find value in other features. |

My order arrived yesterday. Filling out the rebate forms now. MY HINT FOR YOU: You can download the manuals as PDFs from the NERO website. Then just print the title page from an old manual and send it in for the upgraders rebate. I have done this before and it worked just fine. |
