For those who prefer to avoid all the added bloatware....
use NERO Lite. You still need a legitimate license key like this FAR offer.
It is a stripped down install (without Scout, etc.) and it doesn't take over all your file associations. It has all of the tools (including LiteScribe) that most folks will ever need. |

So it's September 1st and the upgrade rebate has supposedly expired but Frys.com is now showing "Rebate valid from 2008-09-01 to 2008-09-30" for the $20 rebate, whose form claimed to expire on 8/31. I just emailed them and asked me to send them the form. I suspect it is an error on their part but it would be nice if there were a new $20 rebate. |

The rebate form says it's good till 9-30-2008. Why would you think it's not valid? |

The upgrade rebate is the same #92779 offer number as the # for the past 9 months. |

Interesting.. I could have sworn I looked right before posting and it still said 8/31. In any event. the URL to the upgrade rebate form in the original post here is not correct, it has been changed on their website. The link in that post DOES still point to a form with an 8/31 expiration date. Updated Rebate Form Link |

Can CD of previous Nero version be used as "Proof of previous ownership"? Does Nero 8 have to be bought at retail store in order to qualify for $20 upgrade rebate? Is on line order from Frys.com OK? |

sorry to bring out a dead thread .. does anybody have any status on the rebates from status-now.com. Their server seems to be timing out all the time. I have another rebate from Corsair being processed by them and the email for this rebate points to corsair.rebateaccess.com |

My status shows up as
"Your submission has been processed and your response has been mailed. You should receive it by December 7, 2008." Definitely not within the 8 weeks specified in the terms and conditions, but I am confident that it is coming. $20 upgrader rebate is due to be mailed sometime in December as well. |

Tracking by name/number/zip appears to be broken right now. |

In case anyone missed it, today rebatestatus.com has run out of funds and does not have $ to cover checks already mailed. This includes our "092779 Nero 8 Ultra Edition $20 MIR". I dont know much more than this right now, but if you have a check from rebatestatus you should not cash it until you receive instructions from the manufacturer - it sounds as if the check will bounce. This affects several other manufacturers as well - see thread 1015491 on SD for more info. Edit: link to article |

Even the $50 rebate was being processed by the same company. My $50 rebate check was mailed on Nov. 7, I think. I think the $50 is processed by a different company. Continental Promotion Group (rebatestatus.com)is the one in trouble, Velocity Fulfillment (status-now.com) seems to be different. http://www.velocityfulfillment.com/ BTW, my $50 check was also mailed last week, have not received it yet... EDIT: received it around 12/10. |

I sent an email to US-CustomerService@nero.com from the nero.com website here.
Just yesterday I got the following response:
We are completing all incomplete rebate submissions. Please provide your mailing address and submission ID.
I sent them the information they requested and will give them a few weeks, then check back with them again. |
