Picked one up - exactly what I was looking for for a media PC, though I just saw the pictures on Newegg and didn't see a DVI slot. Kind of bummed about that. |

Not knowing the Intel line of CPUs, whats low power and cheap (considering I have to spend at least $10 on a cooler)? (I'm not looking at overclocking..) |

Everyone has been mentioning about getting a fan. Are we talking a case fan or a CPU fan? If its just the CPU fan, anyone with experience with using just the stock intel fan? |

Here is list of supported cpu's from Shuttle website: cpu's The E7200 seem to have the best bang for the buck prices right now. There's also a tab for memory support at that link. |

If its just the CPU fan, anyone with experience with using just the stock intel fan? Works fine for me. When mounted properly, there is no discernable noise when placed in my HT stand. |

Check out the detailed review from cnet: Cnet review Just figure adding another $15 for CPU cooler/fan to the cost as last Shuttle barebone I got 10 days ago from Fry's had ICE cooling system but it costed lot more ($200 plus tax and $100 rebate). Very impressive though. easy to install and boots up in 10 secs! |

What is the advantage of OSX..I mean what it is? I am a hardcore Windows user and dont know anything about Mac...should I try?
One of the major advantages is that you don't have to worry much about viruses or spyware. Much simpler to set up, IMO, and easier to troubleshoot if something does go wrong. You really think setting up OSX on an Intel box is easier and more supportable for the average user? I don't agree. It's an interesting exercise for geeks like us, but it's not for the masses. And I won't even mention that it's not legal. why would it be illegal if you legally own a copy of OS x? |

The Crucial memory from Fry's should work. The memory you have will not work since it is NOT DDR2 - it's DDR1 oceanee said:jamnkjm said:Here's some low cost memory - also at Frys - Crucial 2GB $17 after $20 rebate linky
