What is the advantage of OSX..I mean what it is? I am a hardcore Windows user and dont know anything about Mac...should I try?
One of the major advantages is that you don't have to worry much about viruses or spyware. Much simpler to set up, IMO, and easier to troubleshoot if something does go wrong. You really think setting up OSX on an Intel box is easier and more supportable for the average user? I don't agree. It's an interesting exercise for geeks like us, but it's not for the masses. And I won't even mention that it's not legal.
why would it be illegal if you legally own a copy of OS x? Read the OS X EULA. |

I ordered on-line yesterday for in-store pickup (oxnard, ca). The same store said they were out of stock when I stopped by their last night so I had my doubts that I would get it. But when I went by this morning and after half-hour of waiting I was finally able to get it. Ordered some cheap DDR2 RAM at the same time. Thanks OP |

HTN said:I believe putting an Apple sticker on your Intel box is not covered by the "Apple-labeled computer" clause.
Mac OS X (Leopard) Software License (PDF,HTML)
2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. A. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time. You may make one copy of the Apple Software (excluding the Boot ROM code) in machine-readable form for backup purposes only; provided that the backup copy must include all copyright or other proprietary notices contained on the original. I'm not sure how enforceable the Apple EULA is. Neowin recently reversed their stance against OSX86 discussions because they believe a SCOTUS ruling states that it is "illegal for a company to force their users to install the OS on specific hardware." |

Do you think that Celeron 430 with K45 can handle 1080P? Thanks. |

I have mine connect to an HDTV using a VGA to HDMI converter from Monoprice: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011404&p_id=4629&seq=1&format=2. Reviews are somewhat mixed, but works fine for my needs - primarily web browsing.
So you spent 40 bux on an adapter for 50 dollar machine?? The adapter was $30 and machine was $79 when I bought it in early July. Is there a more cost effective method to get HDMI out on a small form factor, low power machine? |

Plan to use older Nvidia FX 5200 PCI video card to hook it up to my 720P plasma TV. Video card has DVI out so got DVI male to HDMI male cable. I'll get the CPU and cable next week. |

That still didn't really answer the question whether this puppy can handle 720p or 1080p output without skipping all over. Especially for MKV files. Has anyone successfully used this box with the default video and successfully output HD resolutions to an HDTV? |

I don't understand... This Power supply has 90W. An Intel E2200 is rated at 65W. This leaves me 25W for the MB, HD, Ram, and wireless card... IS that enough to run a stable system? Or do I HAVE To get a celeron 430/440 (45W)? Are there enough people running E2200 (or similar wattage) CPUs? |

The system has a 100W power supply.. Yes, i just checked. I just bought two 500G HD from Fry's for $70. I wonder if 35W is enough to run both drives? Gary |
