I tried to order this over the phone but I was told they would not accept orders for products that were OOS. They also have the Shuttle SD30G2 for $99.99 + shipping.

Great deal on Shuttle SN68SG2!

Just ordered for store pick up.

so mad I missed this deal

got one in Austin, TX

is this better than the Shuttle SD30G2? I want something for a NAS and/or DVR

available in BM in dfw. looks good.

The SD30G2 is better if you want optical drives, more expansion room, etc.

I chose the KPC (K45) right when it came out due to the lowest power usage and size (don't need optical drive). I use mine as a media streamer/magicjack phone computer/file sharing box. Since it runs 24x7 I wanted super-low power over features and I don't want extra hardware like an optical drive using any power.

A new tweaked K45 is coming out soon with the ICE genie cooler (quiet CPU cooler/exhausst setup). FYI.

SD30G2 is out of stock. tried adding it to the cart and i got oos message

Good deal on the SD30G2, BUT limited to 1066MHz FS CPUs and 667MHz memory (and probably 65nm processors).

Way too many ppl on other threads and sites erroneously claiming 1333MHz.

Caveat emptor.

This has got to be the HOTTEST barebone/motherboard.power supply deal! Only $45 AR ($50).

Just picked 2 up at local Fry's. They didn't have too many in stock.

Better deal than this deal from 2 weeks ago for AMD CPU which was $100 after $100 rebate and tax on $200. It was AWESOME barebone with mother board and cinch to install.

ordered online ... Crosses fingers ... good deal

Just keep in mind that you will have to use an external optical drive (or temporarily connect one) to install Windows (unless you have network install), or a version of Linux on a USB stick. Personally, I see it as ideal for something like an NAS. DVR may not be a good idea, as the onboard video is quite tame, and the minimal power supply will have difficulties with a more powerful video card.

Back in stock.

Yup says in stock now...

Just picked one up online. Thanks OP. =)

got one, thanks op

at $45 it is a steal. if u want optical drive u can use a cheapo version (external) and the cost will not b much. if v wait for some cheap external case for around 10-15 and optical drive for around 20-25 still this is going to b fully operational with less than $100 (if u use linux OS of course).
I got one and fingers crossed.
for DVR this is still good if u can use some powerful CPU like C2D which can take a lot of load.

I just ordered one online and my order went through. Thanks OP!

It says there are two SATA connectors on the mobo, but I can't even tell how you'd install drives in this thing. How many can it hold internally?

I have one of these and just ordered my second. They are great little boxes. I'm running one as a squeezecenter server.

they are VERY LOUD! Just be warned. I think it's the PSU fan, but the thing howls.

I'll be running FREENAS on this one.

Its back in stock. Free ground shipping! Now to find a good CPU deal...

How good are worldwiderebates nowadays?

I did a rebate with them for a $20 Thermaltake WingRS 100 and received the rebate in ~45 day .

What CPU can be a good choice for this one? I am thinking that Conroe 430 or E1200. Do both work? and which one is better costise? 430 is $39.99 E1200 is $49.99. $10 difference. Thank you in advance for your advice.

awesome deal considering for $45 AR u get:
- case
- psu
- mobo.

good for NAS or media box.

Yep got another 1 for free delivery. Theses were selling quickly at local Fry's. Got there before noon and only 4 left.

So get in before they sell out as it was sold out on-line earlier today and I had to drive to Fry's.

Newegg said: Pros: Plugged a Celeron e1200 (1.6ghz) in, set fsb to 250 and the box is rock solid at 2ghz. This will set your ram to 800mhz, so make sure you have ddr2 6400. Also threw in a cheap usb wireless n adapter and a 40gb hdd I had lying around. Works great for an htpc, pretty snappy with Vista Ultimate for watching videos.

Thats encouraging. Looks like someone was able to overclock on it and use DDR-800 memory.

Awesome little box, green.

It's cheap, but you may want to think twice before you jump. Only one PCI slot, and it's not PCI-E. If you need better graphic, your best option is $120 X1300 PCI card, which still can't play any games. Add CPU and external drive - Apex MI-100 case here ($55)+Intel BOXD945GCLF Atom mini-itx mobo with CPU on it(about $60) may be a better option: it's smaller, takes much less power and no rebates...

any good deals in memory and CPU?

FYI:

You can add a slim cd drive in this.

"...any of you who like to mod your computers will be pleased to know that there’s a hidden slim drive bay in this thing." Link to full article

only thing i don't understand - what's a 'chuttle'?

Seems like a good deal for someone who just wants a basic pc for stuff like word processing and surfing. Lack of pci-e slot limits media usage

As many have properly stated, this is NOT for gaming, or other applications where more video horsepower is required. I believe it contains a 95W power supply, which will quickly max out with a modern video card.

Probably not good for HTPC for home theater either. One thing that would be nice is SPDIF audio output.

Thanks OP! Got one. Perfect for the MS Home Server trial coming soon.

Don't need display, don't need sound, just 2 SATA drives and processor, ram ofcourse and I'll be set

"quickly max out" you must be a really nice/polite guy.....its like telling a fat chick "you look healthy"

DVD is a slim size like a laptop. Look around and you'll find a slot load one instead of the standrd tray type, for that cool effect. Look at new egg for a new glass front with DVD slot cut out.
