You have to apply the coupon HMDVMC6 to get the discount (at the bottom of the shopping cart page). It's still alive!

Can't combine coupon code and Microsoft Live Cash_Back.

Section 17 paragraph 2 line 3 of the MS Live terms and conditions: "You will not earn cash_back awards on purchases where ... (g) you also use a separate discount or coupon."

Any other coupon code to get HDMI cables? Thanks.

alert mods

Thx OP. Got 1. I picked up a cheap, $300, Westinghouse 27" monitor at our Coast Guard Exchange. DVI no HDMI so this will eliminate a couple of cables and free up other inputs. So far for my Bedroom it's great.

For this small transaction(4.99), nothing is lost by trying. As of now, the the Cash Back is reporting in my live.com account.

I'll let you know in 60 days or so if I actually get it.

a little bit confused. It says on the webpage "supports 8-channel digital audio" I didn't think DVI supported audio; so even if the HDMI end could read the audio & video you would only get video on the DVI end right? For ex. connecting my HP laptop via HDMI to DVI projector WOULD I ALSO GET SOUND THRU THAT CONNECTION??

alert mods

I'm not sure what they mean by "supports 8-channel digital audio", DVI is video only. I think the key word there is "supports" i.e. theoretically you could put the signal through the copper, though it's not going to go anywhere.

Good deal, thx OP. I don't have a live account but the discounted price was good and the FatCash is always welcome. I also see you can get a $5 coupon for posting a review on Reseller Ratings.

Actually, the payoff could be much higher. MS ca$hback status:

"Pending CashBack:
Purchase date Amount Available date Details
Aug 28, 2008 $1.10 Oct 27, 2008
(60 days left) Black 6.5-foot HDMI-DVI Cable "

13.75% of original price of 7.99.

I'll risk .13.

Like I said, "nothing" to lose. $1.10 to gain.
