be warned on new house construction that you have to ask for ceiling fan mounting fixtures else they will put regular light fixtures. with some inspection I added two drywall screws and it supported the fixture better. by inspection I could see that it was a box that you hammer nails into the joist, the box had the holes and I was able to do it. As always be careful and make sure the power is off |

All my Hunter fans that I bought last year came with Candelabra base. I hope this too. This was a disappointment to me. Two of my fans I installed with light kits. I used adapters to go to a regular base so I could use 100watt equivalent CFL's. I had to get a longer threaded tube to make the canopy lower to accommodate them. I bought 65w equivalent Candelabra CFLs @ Sams Club (I believe they are 50% cheaper than Lowes & HD). |
