Beats the $179 deal from BestBuy online price, possibly better than recent deal on 200W of $139 from BestBuy in-store (with Racing Club members $50 off coupon)
I saw this deal on other sites, and have referred to couple of friends who are on the way to order this unit.
My first post - be kind, for any errors don't mind!
I am extremely happy with my 200W unit too (Best Buy $139 deal with in-store coupon), but couple of my friends were dying to get a Garmin. Lol - they both actually borrowed my Garmin, and couldn't wait to get their own units. One guy was very happy to be first GPS user, and he could go to new places on spur of the moment (he picked a ticket on Craigslist, went to Pocono NASCAR Sprintcup. Doubled similar process by going to watch Barclays PGA tour). Other guy's Magellan occationally hangs, so he wanted to have Garmin on his 400 mile trip to Niagara Falls. So, they both wanted to have their own Garmin.
We've been keep looking for deals on Nuvi 200 series, preferably wide-screen (4.3") and if possible with TTS (not that important, unless for a good deal price). Glad we found this deal, and wanted to shared with other fellow FW'ers.

Great deal! The widescreen Nuvis are great. I've been rocking a 200W with the all-of-North America map updates.
Just followed the link and was able to add a unit to the cart, did they possibly have more units made available in stock now?
I am shocked not to find a single useful stackable Dell coupons on eBay? Is Dell doing away with coupons any longer ? Wish, we could sweeten this decent deal on 250W
Great gift item to consider for recent grads and other folks in family.
One thing I like about GPSs, particularly with GARMIN Nuvis (make sure to update your firmware and Maps to 2009!) is that: you can be driving happily with your Bluetooth head-set on a important call, and now you don't have to keep searching for that steet and that turn, let your Garmin alert you about upcoming turns or exits! (now I wonder how come I miss not having a GPS, that too Garmin unit, for this loong! But, the deals started appearing only recently though..).
I should point out that this is a basic GPS and the "Provides turn-by-turn voice directions" feature does not include the name of the street.
Voice prompts (e.g. "Turn right in 500 ft."): yes (internal speaker) Speaks street names (e.g. "Turn right ON ELM STREET in 500 ft.") : no
One of the recent C550 or C580 deals would have text to speech, bluetooth, and traffic - but in a little bulkier package. Froobi still has the C550 for $130 and mine came with 2009 maps and looks and acts just like new. 1 yr warranty in any case.
This is one of the freebie options when you buy a Xerox 6130/N color laser printer at Newegg. For $325 (free ship, no tax for most, 3% MSLCB) you get the color laser and the Garmin 250w. You could consider it a free GPS, or a networked color laser for $175 if you're going to buy the GPS anyways.
On the Dell site, its been saying "Temporarily Out Of Stock. Please call sales number at the top of this page for assistance" but we are seeing folks being able to put one in the cart, and proceed for payment, and ordering one.
Somebody can post their details on when the shipment is expected ?
Thanks

Just ordered one and got an additional 3% off using my DPA. It's showing a ship date of 9/16/08. We'll see if it ships.
sean75p said: Bump. this seems like a good deal for a nuvi 250w.
Damn, seems like it just went out of stock.
No offense... I have/had the following GPS and my rating would be:
1. Navtour G4 $142 2. Navigon 2100 $101 (IGO8) 3. TomTom LE $129 (with TTS) 4. Garmin 650 $350 sucked big time (missed many destination including my house)
Same here, I was able to place order and have shipping date of 9/23ish.

In stock as of 10:43 est. Where did you guys get a shipping date, my Dell preferred receipt only says free 3-5 day shipping? Thanks for the post OP
Nuvi 250W is wide-screen, while 260 is not .. Just for kix, 250W's suggested MSRP is $299.99 USD - $ 328.57 USD by Garmin, while 260's MSRP is a fixed $299.99 USD.
There must be something better with 250W that we are not obviously seeing ..
Also, you ought to understand the power of Wide-screen (its a natural fit to car/auto viewing landscape.). Obviously, you can't have TTS and Wide-screen, and expect this sort of deal. Probably not until BF deals anyway ..

The 260 has a 3.4" screen but has TTS. The 250W has a 4.3" screen but no TTS.
They have the same MSRP.
$150 for a 250W is a screamin' deal, considering that's half MSRP and it's $50 less than Amazon.
Garmins have better routing, and also Garmin uses Navteq maps, which are better then tele-atlas maps which are used by Mio. Having said that, both the maps are kind of old anything new takes atleast 9-12 months to show up on there maps. Also Mio has no map update Guarantee, whereas Garmin will give you new maps if they relaese new maps in 60 days of your first GPS use.
if you can buy one with for TTS, this is very handy if you are driving in Big Cities. Size dosn't matter, I will stick to smaller unit for ease of carrying it.

Got a call from Dell today...mine was cancelled...that stinks!
My back order with Dell on this one just got eliminated...any idea if this is normal for Dell to cancell out of stock and back ordered items?

Hmm, I ordered the GPS on September 3rd, yet I haven't received it yet (says 3-5 day shipping minus the days needed to build/test the product). I did not receive a call saying mines got cancelled either. Is anyone else in this situation? I'm about to give them a call.
