It's a WIP (Work In Progress). That means that it's only partially supported, and there are bugs. I'd go ahead and buy the router anyway, because eventually they will get it fixed.

I'd also let the DD-WRT folks know that the router is on sale, because one of the things that often holds them back is not having a particular router on hand to fully test. Someone might even consider buying the router for them.

Good.

And now 699 plus delivery (~44) online. Cancels out sales tax, I guess.

I'm in.

mymiura said:Can anyone compare the Emprex with the HP SATA burner? If the HP is $5 more AR, does the Emprex have Lightscribe? I think for $5 more it would be fun to have the Lightscribe feature. Can the emprex, being Sony/Lite-on be flashed to do Lightscribe as well? I mainly do audio CDs, some DVDs. I need SATA since my older burner is PATA hooked up via USB. Not enough IDEs on my new computer.

The HP burner is PATA, not SATA, unless I missed something.

The Emprex drives do not have Lightscribe.

You can't convert a non-Lightscribe drive into one that has it. It's in the hardware not the firmware.

I just came back from the DFW (Irving) store and the 46" that I was going to pick up is not $1299 like advertised. It was up there for $1699. I called the one in Plano, TX and they had the $1699 price also. Not sure why they aren't giving the $1299 advertised price.

Rebate valid for both Fry's Electronics and Frys.com " Looks like this might be a $15 free shipping power supply.if Frys.com actually ships to you the PSU, you got a decent deal. It appeared to me it was a price mistake on Frys.com My local Fry's B&M has it today for $94.99, before $50 MIR.

I was able to get one for $64.99, before $50 MIR, as I placed an online order for in store pickup and got the store manager honored the online's quote.

Went to grab the Emprex 20X SATA DVD burner (Black #5691321) at City of Industry store (SoCal). Instead of $29.99 + Tax, the COI store sells for $34.99 + tax - 20 rebate (which can be done online, but not sure how much faster since you still have to mail in the pre-filled form and the UPC cut out.)

Oh yes, there are a LOT of them left (can't find them? look UP, literally) and it is an Optiarc (Sony/NEC) AD-7200S. RPC-1 firmware can be found on CDFreaks.com. Also, no SATA cable included, just the drive, the software (Nero 8 Ess. and Cyberlink DVD stuff.)

No one seemed to have mentioned the GPS deal today, the MyGuide 2350 for $79. Anyone have any experience with this GPS? BTW, I just noticed Overstock.com had this same item for $72, but it's sold out already. Just wondering if it's worth keeping. From what I've gathered, the maps are all on the SD card only. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

We have received your submission and it is being processed. The estimated mail date for your check is 18-Dec-2008.

so it appears that my rebate submission for a neo he 550 bought ($65) and shipped from frys.com (not in-store at "fry's electronics") is going to be honored.

background

i mailed my rebate (with a printout of the frys.com webpage saying the rebate was valid for both fry's and frys.com highlighted and circled) a few days after receiving it in the mail. the three previous antec rebates i submitted earlier this year took 16, 12, & 18 days from the postmark date until they reported them on antec.rebatestatus.com.

when this rebate was still unreported on sept 29 (1 day before the required postmark date in case i needed to remail it; 3 weeks after i mailed it and longer than previously experienced) i scanned the photocopies of everything i mailed into a pdf and submitted it on the rebatestatus.com customer service web-form asking about the status of my rebate. i got a form-email back saying my rebate couldn't be found in their system and to wait 30 days from mailing it.

this past weekend was ~30 days from when i originally mailed it, so i tried submitting the same pdf of my scanned photocopied mailed rebate submission and twice their system said my web-form submission couldn't be accepted due to something being "unavailable" on their end (can't remember exactly; maybe they do database maintenance or such on the weekends).

today i checked the status of my rebate in the process of getting to the customer service web-form, planning to ask again about my rebate and resubmit my pdf, and i was surprised to not only find status on my rebate, but that it appears to have been accepted.

others' experiences

so did it take anybody else over 30 days to see the status of their rebate? has anybody else had their frys.com rebate accepted? i'm curious if the usps temporary lost my rebate submission in transit which severely delayed its delivery (they once delivered me a two-day package 30 days late) or if the rebate was stalled somewhere in the process waiting to see if antec/rebatestatus could afford to pay out my rebate (based on the number of valid rebate submissions vs funds set aside for this rebate offer based on statistics of previous rebate submissions).

and if somebody did nearly the same as me but didn't get the rebate accepted, i wonder what the difference was (including a copy of the frys.com webpage, following up with a pdf of the mailed , etc). the rebate process is so undocumented (at least to us customers), that i'm curious if there's enough customer experiences to partially figure out how this works.

Here's my data point. I used the in-store pickup option and bought it on 9/1, therefore I have the store cashier receipt to submit the rebate. Rebate mailed on 9/29, and I got an email notice on 10/10 exactly the same as yours quoted above. It's likely that they process the rebates in batches at certain time frames and not really "first-come first-served" every day.

Sorry to bump this up, but has anybody received their $50.00 rebate check for the Antec PSU yet?

I bought mine in store (didnt do the online purchase trick 'cause I really wanted to be legit on this one), got my confirmation email, it said check will be mailed Nov. 25th, then status went to 'we have received your submission and your request is being processed blah blah blah.'

I've sent them 2 emails with no response back yet. This is through rebatestatus.com if that helps.

Wonder if I'm not alone in this sinking boat!

BTW, the rebate forum is dead and non-functional now.

THX

sorry. i meant to post an update last week, but forgot.

rebatestatus.com, the website for rebate processor CPG, filed chapter 11.

antec is personally handling outstanding rebates: http://www.antec.com/rebate.html

i emailed rebateproblems@antec.com (as instructed at that url) a PDF of scans of my previously submitted rebate paperwork (completed rebate form, UPC, fry's webpage clearly stating rebate was valid for online purchases, and receipt). in the email message body i included a link to rebatestatus.com's status of my rebate. within hours i received the following response:

rebates@antec.com said:Thank you for sending Antec your rebate information.

Your rebate information has been received and will be processed for approval and payment. We will contact you if we have further questions.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of our rebate processor, Continental Promotions Group.

Thank you for your business, and thank you for your patience while we deal with this unexpected and unfortunate situation.

-Antec

that's all i've heard so far. i'm not sure they took the time to scrutinized my paperwork before responding, so i might yet get rejected (though rebatestatus.com originally showed it as accepted, it now says that my rebate's status is unknown).

so hopefully you kept copies so you can copy the copies and either email or snail-mail them to antec (see above url).
