On Clearance at your local Best Buy for $3.99 YMMV

USB or 4AA battery powered.

I tried it with 8 sheets of paper using USB port and it had no problems. Says it can do 15. Maybe?

I also picked up a USB/Battery powered pencil sharpener by the same manufacturer for $2.99 reg. $12.99. That has flashy lights and actually sharpened pretty well.

YMMV as always with Beast Buy clearance, but it was a small printed tag not the big yellow tags that most in store clearance items have so you might get lucky.

They are actually well built too, especially at this price you can't go wrong.

ENJOY!

Not a comentary on your deal itself, seems like a fine deal if it's something that you want, but other than the novelty why in the world would you want a USB powered stapler? ; ) I guess that's why they're clearanced at $3.99.

I guess you didn't quite understand my post. These are real functioning decent quality items that you can actually use in your home office for the fraction of the cost of buying a dedicated electric stapler o dedicated electric pencil sharpener. I have one of each of the "real" thing and these perform just as well if not better(especially the pencil sharpener). These are not the cheapo usb devices you can get for $2 online. hope that clarifies. I wouldn't promote junk nor keep it for myself.

but then, they switched from the Swingline stapler to the Ohm stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much. And I kept the Staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

Yeah, I understand and like I said it seems like it's a good deal for what it is. I just don't really see the point to a USB-powered stapler to begin with. Personally, if it's on my desk, I'd probably prefer a stand-alone electric anyway versus having something that I have to plug-in to and unplug from and is taking up a USB port. If it's for travel, then one of the small non-powered ones is just fine in most cases in my experience and doesn't require a computer. Not like you're going to be some place that you need to do a lot of stapling where you wouldn't have access to a stapler anyway (and if so then you'd also need to carry a USB-powered printer and all of the paper with you too .

I believe that it's not a cheapy, I just wonder about the why of the USB power. Somebody must agree with you that it's a good idea since they made them.

Eh... One less stapler-powering wall-wart taking up two spaces on a power strip might be the appeal. Seems more useful than the USB foot warmer.

You just need to find the older drivers.

Will the usb allow software-based stapling? Perhaps even remote or network stapling?

OK OK OK... I picked up 3... one for myself and 2 for gifts.

OP is right, this is a sturdy little stapler with a rubberized exterior and a blue LED (yay)!

Thanks OP, not a bad little gadget!

Obviously you guys have never seen the Firewire version. It's much faster.

If anyone has LINUX drivers, please point me to those, I would really really love to use this in my emails... I have noticed recently that when sending emails when you use the regular paper clip icon, some of my attachments go missing !! I think this is a good hardware based solution for that problem !
